Is it cheaper to buy new lips or get lips re-chromed?

I'm a newb.  My lips are decent size for my one set of wheels.
But they are damaged from years of niglect.  Should i just get all new lips, or get them re-chromed?

polish them out if that doesn't work, re-chrome.
If it cost more to re-chrome than just buying new lips go for the lips. 
Beware of the quality of buying the barrels.
