Y34 owner in NC

Hi All,
I've finally decided to join a VIP forum, after owning an '03 M45 for 7 years.  I love the car, & have driven it stock for this long, it has ~ 145K miles on the clock.  I've just focused on keeping up with maintenance so far, although it's been a great car.

I've been lurking in the VIP community off & on for years, but I'm getting closer to thinking about mods for car as my wife & I drive it less.  

I love the VIP style rims & stance although I like to run the car hard also.  I like the idea of a mild drop with coilovers & staggered rims, although what the car desperately needs is more sway bar!  I've auto-x'd the car & of course you can do a 3-mississippi count when transitioning.  Anyway, for now I'm still in the idea-generation phase.  It's great owning a car you never see another one of, however I look at these cars alot online since I never see one at all, much less a VIP.

Well, I had an M45 and absolutely loved it. Altough I haven't had mine for going on almost 2 year, there wasn't a huge support for them as they didn't sell many. BC and PBM were making coilovers then. I have noticed through lurking more recently that more members are getting into the Y34 chassis so everyone should be able to provide more insight.

Working on it myself as well. Starting to hate it only because its becoming common. Welcome to the boards and hopefully we can assist you. Looking forward to your plans.

It's becoming common?  LOL, if by common you mean 1 or 2 of them at a car show with dozens of VIP cars, then I guess so... I don't think they have come anywhere close to "common" status, I doubt they will, but for sure more people are jumping on them. 

I think to the OP you will find once you put coilovers on it, you might not feel the need for bigger sway bars. The bars are pretty thick anyhow, it's just hard to keep a high off the ground stock car from rolling much. I push my car pretty hard and I love how tight it handles, exit ramps and twisty roads are a blast.

Yeah its common. Especially what I see in the South, show or not. They all have some type of mod.

yeah i've seen about 2 dozen different modded ones in the last 2 years or so. a lot of them aren't on the interwebs, but all modded with at least coils and wheels.
