Y33 Noob build.

My friend James Church once told me, "One does not simply become VIP" soooo I'm here! haha! Anyway im not new to building cars, I also own a Widebody Evo IX. I bought the Q as a daily and this thread is to chronicle that build. I am very excited as this is VERY different than the Evo, Static vs. Air for example. Any way here are some pics to get it started. I am picking up some SSR MS1 19x8.5 and 19x10.5 +30 all around next week as well as my air set up.

Hello everyone! I've got the SSR's now at home along with some lugs from my buddies at Evasive Motorsports in So-Cal. The car is scheduled to be dropped off with the guys at Impact Performance this Friday for the install. Here is the current parts list:

-SSR 19' Wheels
-Mode Parfume Bold World Air Suspension
-Airlift V2 Air management

While I do prefer top notch parts, sometimes the price doesn't agree with my pocket book (or the main lady lol) this is for the most part a "Budget" minded VIP build. I cant wait to get her back!

I'll take that as a compliment! I am very fortunate to have built many great relationships through building my Evo, that are helping me now. While it is budget minded, I am not going to buy sub-par parts. I am a firm believer in doing it right the first time. Quality vs. Quantity.

Those wheels are going to get lost in the wells with bags. I would at least slap on some +25 adapters.

I was thinking the same. I think based on the offset and width I was going to need spacers anyways to clear the suspension. Thanks for the advice!

So here she is today. The guys at Impact Performance SF did an amazing job on the install! In addition to the Mode Parfume Bold world air suspension and Airlift V2 management they also put in a 5 gallon seamless tank and a single Viar compressor. As soon as I got her back I also dropped by and had my fenders rolled as ill be running 25mm spacers in the rear and 50mm (GIANT!) spacers in the front. WOW there's a lot of space in there! haha more updates to come!

yeah these cars can swallow low offset wheels in the 10/11" widths so have fun exploring wheel options. that's one of the fun parts! i always emphasize to do your regular maintenance on the car first before doing crazy mods. it's not cool seeing a car built then breaks down prematurely!

I hear ya! I was able to do a valve gasket job, full fluid swap and a new mishimoto radiator right when I picked it up. Though sometimes smells like she's burning oil.

Here's how she looks now with the 25mm in the rear and 50mm up front. Rides great considering the size they don't vibrate thanks to them being hubcentric. Thanks! Nothing crazy, probably will put on the a grill, Jdm HID headlights, hood ornament. Maybe the exhaust and tint. Down the line a kit and wrap. But now that I'm pretty happy with the Q I want to re-focus on my Evo for this show season. So it will be more than likely slow progress from here.

So this happened. I put up my SSR's up for trade on Zilvia and ended up with these Weds Kranze LXZ. 19x10.5 f and 19x11.5r , they are going to be 4inch and 5inch lips respectively when I finish building them. Just waiting on some camber and tow arms and ill have these on.

the new wheels look pimp, i personally like the way it looks the way it sits. i'm not a fan of excessive camber, natural camber is just fine lol.

Wow, car looks 100% better with those wheels. Very nice
