ATT: People on Airrunners

How does your car handle compared to stock or coilovers?

rides good. i think its rides a lil bit better then stock. not too much body roll either. the design and build of them is excellent!

straight.

i like the ride way better than when i had l-sportline springs. and the 4pt kyb adjustable helps quite a bit as well. i can go over railroad tracks with a solid feel instead of a floating sensation. cornering is solid as well. another concern i had b4 i got air was that when i go up driveways i was worried bout the airbag sagging due to pressure being put onto 1 bag. but with the airrunner kit it doesnt do that. (i deal with dub style'd trucks/suvs/cars all day long with airride and it seems when i go up driveways angled the air seems to push out of the corner that im going up the driveway with first.) these are my personal opinions so hopefully the whole "airrunner" debate doesnt start. feel free to pm me with any questions. :smiley:

And also I've heard that air sus kit are pretty hard to maintain, is this true?

I've been thinking to get airruner but the only downside is cost, installation and whether is the right option
A lot of reviews have been saying their quality is the best

is there any other air sus out there which is as good but more cost efficient?

yes, airrunner is a bolt on system. i actually helped to install my system and felt that the hardest part was running the lines (gotta remove like every interior panel) and figuring out where i wanted to mount my tank and compressor. i did my system in roughly 1 days time and was fortunate that no  problems occured. in terms of maintenence draining the tank every 2-3 weeks is usually suggested so that  no condensation is built up inside but that can be fixed with filters (add-on item to which some prefer) but for me i just let the air out every 2 weeks or so and remove the tank once a month to see if theres water inside (6months so far and no water yet) i have to say that yes there are many other air systems out there that are of good quality as well, and its not only UAS out there...so just do some research and see what you can come up with, UAS seems to be popular due to cost, but there are other bags you can use from various other companies. either way its a custom job and you can build to suit your needs. just remember to compensate bag size for the space you have in the wheel well so that you will not have any rubbing issues.

I just want to know what you guys think of running an air runner kit 365 days a year through a northern Climate (Alberta Canada, 6 months of winter with periods of -22 Fahrenheit for a week or two). thanks.

I helped my friends install mine...it was a little bit more PITA since i have a y33...it's a spindle style strut so had to repack all the bearings and completely remove the hub...otherwise, it's very simple...just like installing a set of coilovers and hooking up and amp...with air suspension, plumbing is always important...
 
you pretty much get what you pay for...a couple of my friends were running the UAS system which seemed fine at first glance but had to work out kinks and bags and valves leaked...i've had NO problems and NO headaches with my airrunner system...which is basically worth all the money IMO

this is a system for a majesta 15...but here's a general idea of what it comes with
 
4 sruts/bags (these are of course used)

tank and compressor (also comes with a plate to mount these two together but most don't actually use it and go more 'custom' route)

switches, 1/4 line, gauges, w-lock fittings (which are great), electrical componets ...also comes with extras like electrical connectors, hose cutter, plumbing tape etc.

pretty much, it comes with everything.

If I were ever gonna run airrunner, I would get a stainless tank, add another compressor and use electric valves.... So pretty much you can do a uas system with coilovers for less....BTW how many CFM is the airrunner compressor rated at???

is there a link or thread to keeping your air suspension up and running good as new everyday? i know theres some minor maintenance needs to be done with this system. i just recently purchased a UAS kit, and i'm a complete newb :pat:

did your friends pay for the installation....... if not that's what they get.

My airrunner is daily driven and I've had no problems! No maintenance needed! As long as it's installed right you should have no problems! I did upgrade my compressor though, so I can feel my tanks up faster!!! I have nothing against UAS for the record. If it works and last then there's no problems! I just feel safer with airrunner knowing it's a direct fit for my car, has been professionally tested and is a full adjustable strut. I also like how elegant it looks when it slowly drops and rises!!!

Wut up pancakes..... what compressor did u upgrade to??? You like yer airrunner setup and I like my UAS set-up....It was installed in house and I haven't had any problems so far.... almost have 20k on them.... in the last 8 months... I DD my ride 100 miles a day also.....One thing to is that I like the speed of 1/2 lines......for dips...driveways....and most of all for clowning fools.... Maybe it's just me. If yer shit looks gangster....that's how u gotta roll..........BTW.....u still got them stocks????

Haahahaha! Yea! I don't drive that far daily and it would be nice to pull up and dump on some fools but I'm 100% coo with my setup so far! The White GS AF did electric setup on it and it was very nice! Smooth and fast! But I like having full control of my suspension and with manual switches you can stop it where you want. As far as dips by the time I usally hit the dips (if I don't see them) then it's too late! I don't remember the name of the compressor I got at the moment but I can let you know later. I think it's Viar or somethin like that!

i've had my NO problems with my airrunners other than replenishing my funds in my bank account...
 
as far as UAS, i'm thinking about going that route...maybe pick up a set of used JIC's and slap the bags over that...
