Y32 Cedric Gran Turismo Build in the UK

Hi guys. Picked up a Y32 Nissan Cedric Gran Turismo VG30DET off eBay for a steal the other day, found it while trawling for a "sensible" but not boring daily. Drifting is my main focus in terms of cars and work (I work at Driftworks, some of you guys may know the company) so I'm keen to see what parts I can make fit the Y32 - trusty Nissan interchangeability! So yeah, onto the Y32. 1992 model, 39,000 miles, wonderful. These are very rare cars over here so I'm pretty happy to have found it.

The radio doesn't work too well on UK frequencies and the CD player is also broken, so keen to know the best way of removing the lot without damaging the centre console clips...this all seems a bit higher quality than S chassis stuff haha.

Got it on the ramp straight away to see what S/R/Z-body parts I could make work. Turns out this is the cleanest old Nissan I've been underneath in a long time, great news.

I spotted the usual stuff, was a bit taken aback by the six bolt/GTR style driveshaft/diff setup, but everything else seems fairly standard at the rear. The front seems a little more complicated but I'd heard that an S-body front swap was possible - I've since done my research on here into the S-body front end conversion so I'll be cracking on with that shortly. Must resist the urge to do the manual conversion and have it as a fun drifter to go alongside the more hardcore PS!

I started having a play with coilovers that we have on the shelf here to see what I could make fit. R33s were way too long.

So I tried an S14 CS2 setup instead. Perfect fit but again, the damper seemed too long. So I'll be going to an S13 setup instead.

I'm in no mad rush to get the car looking awesome what with the PS taking up the vast majority of my time/money but I'd like to at least have it slammed shortly. We've got a lot of cool parts at our disposal here so hopefully I'll end up with a pretty cool car. My most pressing job is to get rid of the awful head unit so I can at least listen to some music!
