What is up with Import models lately?

Off topic but it kinda isnt...:

Are there no requirements on being an "import model" nowadays other than wearing underwear and showing some skin?  I mean come on, have you guys seen the ones in that issue of SS?  My gosh, other than Ursula Mayes the rest were just like "doo dong" models .  (thanks one ton for the terminology :) )

i hear you, i just shoot some models over the weekend to complete my portfolio and their profolios(for free).....it seems like most amateur models do implied nudity just to get them out there and try something else after a year or so. if it was me i would have to scout/hire model "esque" looking people.

I think they're extinct?  I heard you can go to the National History Museum and see wax figures of some..we still have Race Queens in Japan though.

its like that at hin to, for every 15 "models" there only 1 was good looking

if and when I ever take my Lexus to any import show (HIN, NOPI, etc.) I would never let no skimpy bikini-wearing hoe pose on my LS4.  That just don't fly.

Either a nice, classy, elegantly-dressed woman or no woman at all.

You know...a lot of those girls are not true models...they are just ugly (usually asian) girls who think they are hot models...but in reality they landed this gig because the car/shop owner wanted to attract more people to the booth/car and a lot of them do it for dirt cheap if not even free with hopes of getting their ugly asses onto the pages of superstreet.

There are only a few true models who go through the whole process and actually own personal portfolios...the rest are just posers.

I agree with you Pavel 'Dark Anghell'. Most of them now-a-days are posers. I've been in the car show scene for 9 years now. Plus they're more plastic going around these days. The girls that are hot tend to be the girlfriends who come in to the shows w/ their bfs.

Francine Dee has been around for quite sometime now, and I think she might be the first one to jump from softcore porn to import modeling.  Dont quote on me on that one..I remember there was a photo of Francine with another girl doing some crazy ass poses and it looked like it was infront of a put up tent for a shop.

If we put some of her vids there that couldve been mistaken for an AVN show instead of HIN  hehe...

haha I have to agree that some of the GFs that show up are 10 times better than "models". Francine has huge boobs...that's why she's popular. Miss HIN or whatever they call her...they tend to be more attractive. I remember Mia Guzman, she was cute. But 99% of other "models" couldn't land a photoshoot even if the photographer was blind and they paid him a grand to do the shots. 

Shows are not what they used to be...they remind me of clubs: same crowd, you pay a lot to get in...unless you know people, once you do get in its a buch of dudes standing around looking at few girls that are there. I don't even look at cars at shows anymore, they are the same year after year...on average there will be 2 cars that catch my eye. I used to sneak alcohol in there, so that was fun for a couple of years...now I just stopped going alltogether.

I think the days of HOT models ended awhile back. Maybe there isnt any money in it. The chicks I've seen recently are getting younger and uglier. Its like they went from Jr. High to Ho-skool.

You know whos fault it is?? The goons who sit there and drool and stare. If those chicks didnt get 178% more attention than they would get.....say.....ANYWHERE else in the galaxy, they wouldnt waste their time, or ours. And the race queens??  They need a snack and some sunlight....and some JGTC endorsed dental work.

You guys should have been to NOPI here in AZ. My gf didn't even want to take pictures of the bikini contest for her male friends back home. "Not cute enough even with the tittays hangin out."

Well to some kids this is as close they can get to real life boobs as possible. People who are there for cars or to do business can care less about the girls. I remember the first year HIN was in Seattle, I was taking pics with the "models" left and right...that's back when I was 16. So now that I think about it...having 14-17 year olds for your "models"  is smart because they appeal to the right audience...and for them seeing a girl half naked live is better than seeing one on a computer screen.

Ethnicity is or was not the issue, it's the current crop of models that are popping up.

I could care less if you are Asian born in America or an Asian born in your home country or  white, black or latina model.  The word model should encompass beauty.  Some girls maybe "hot" but beautiful hardly.

Look at the pic of Francine Dee with her legs up...respect? probably went out the window, trying to come back in the limelight by showing some "poon"? maybe. Beautiful...hardly.

The "USDM" model is our friend Verena.  She's from Hawaii, but has been out in Cali for a while now drifting and she's actually a pretty damned good one.  She competes right along side a lot of the better guys.

Yeah I completely understand looks belong to the viewer. It's just maybe that picture posted of her is the problem. I have never found her attractive. But I mean like the blonde posted a few pages back, there is more than likely someone on this board who finds her attractive even though many have already said she was not. There are some models that are definately not attractive but still make it in the industry.

I have also met her. I ate lunch with her older sister in HS and her older sister looks better than her. Tila went to the same elementary and middle school as my younger brother and sister. I once scanned their middle school year book picture to show on a forum but can't find the pic or the yearbook anymore.

Haha, yep it was Speedhawaii.  I'm one of the guys (along with Steve Smith) who ran it.  I was just talking about that Food Bank show we put on the other day while assisting the Food Bank again since I'm with the Civil Defense.  And yes it was back then..haha.  Yes, I felt marginally naughty...but come on, a hot chick is a hot chick!  I can't remember who all we had modeling that day.   I think there was also my wife and Sunisa too.  Can't remember...too long ago.  We got special recognition from the Food Bank at their Banquet.  Apparently it was more of a success than even we had thought.  Maybe I should do another one sometime.
