air ride.
just wondering if any one can give me a list of all the stuff you need for an air ride suspension.
i have looked and looked and i cant find a complete list.
the reason for this is because i dont want to buy a complete kit because i just want to buy like one thing at a time. im not very good at saving money lol. so if i just get one thing at a time i will have all of it sooner or later. its better then me saving like half of it and then spending it on something stupid.
thanks

Depends on the car:
-bags, strut bags, or cylinders.
-compressor(s)
-relay(s)
-pressure switch
-tank(s)
-water trap
-valves
-switches (for electric valves)
-gauges
-lines
-fittings
-wiring, ect.
You can probably piece this together with GOOD, new stuff, for $1500-2000. Maybe more. It all depends on what you go with. This is compared to kits that cost anywhere from $2500-$4100! And most kits come with one, little compressor, small valves and lines, ect.
Good Luck!

Ebay has the BEST deal on Viair compressors, shipped straight from the manufacturer. They also have pretty good deals on electric valves.
Suicide door is a good place to order from. But you cant beat ebays prices on compressors. I just bought dual Viair 460's, with relays, pressure switch, and fuse holder for $360 shipped!

anyone have tips for me? i know nothing about this stuff... yet.
thinking about picking up an old car that has struts and springs seperate, on all four corners. would i just need shorter struts, and somehow replace the springs with universal bags?

In that case you would just mount your bags, then make/mount some tabs, and install some shocks.

the starter kit for 1/2'' looks pretty good, but you might wanna add another compressor for faster fills, and maybe a smaller more cleaner switch box, instead of that big one they have. get the kit and just save for bags later on,

1/2" would be fine. 3/8" would work fine, too. Thats what Im doing on mine.
1/2" valves and lines, you can raise/lower faster, and usually allows a softer ride.
The starter kit,..... add another compressor, and some bags, and you have a pretty nice set up.

really rid factor is not that big for me right cause right now the bmw has 4 blown shocks and i will be replacing them befor i go air. but its kinda find having it all bouncy lol. i can make it rock back and forth like crazy when driving. but some times it does get scary lol.
