they probably have the wheel off and have it just laying there..
Yup. The picture looks like it was taken at a body shop. Check this out. It was posted a while back. HAHAHAH!!! That fender trim job is to DIE for!!!
HAHAHA holy **** ive never notiuced that ont hat car!! it looks a godamn shark took a bite out of it godamnnn
That whole car's modification list is laughable. Some of the shottiest work I've ever seen.
that civic has front end damage... i guess they cant handle the VteC !!(!!@@@!!! i saw a older civic with its rear wheel like that.... it got spun when trying to cut some one off jdm sing cam no vtec automatic style and hit the curb... i literally just drove pass and laughed.
wtfx,...craziness
Besides the obvious flaws, the car has potential. It has great fitment with nice wheels. I wouldnt call it VIP style though
This beats them both

I still deem it rediculous and ugly...
Yeah...uh, I'm gonna have to give your maturity a two thumbs down. He asked your age because, well "That is not VIP and is ugly and DUMB!!" isn't exactly a mature comment. Anyways, does someone have more info on the ugly and DUMB!! not VIP car from CarDomain? I'm curious as to how they got so much camber, or if they just took the wheels off...and what other mods were done.

so what's the fascination with excessive camber? is everyone having understeer problems or what? it really does look retarded to have your wheels cambered out like -10 degrees. most foolish thing i've ever seen. not to mention you'll need to have a weekly appointment with your local tire shop. and most likely the bodyshop when you hit the brakes and keep rear ending people cause your contact patch is smaller than a bicycle tire.
I love how all of these new kids who have never played with moderate to extreme camber, or even suspension on vip cars in general are telling us about suspensions. Where is JZZ30, OneTon, VIPlife, DXJP, and elpresedente when you need them
First of all... I said it was dumb.. THAT IS MY OPINION... IF u like havin ur car that way KU F*ckin DOS to you... That is the point of this site, to post ideas, voice opinions, and get help... It felt as though u wer deliberately attacking me because i was not in aggreeance with everyone else...
yeah, funny coming from me, right. i'm your vip god, right? anyhoo, yeah, of course i know that people rock ridiculous camber, but everyone seems to be admiring it for the camber as if it's a stylish upgrade. no. camber is adjusted for fitment. with wide negative offset wheels, you can only tuck so much. you have to pull the fenders, or glass them then adjust camber for the extra bit of clearance. it's not an aspect of vip styling, but more so a byproduct. and idk wtf your talking about with the tires lasting. i used to chew through falken azenis on my 86 with only 3.2 degrees negative camber. and i'd also demolish tires on my Z31 with only about 2 degrees negative camber. why i'm even saying anything, idk.. of course i'll get flamed, right? i guess i'm just trying to let people know that camber isn't a fashion in vip, but for function.
well if you weren't drifting them around all the time, then they would probably last longer right? also, did you have ur toe zeroed in? that's what eats tires, is having the toe not as close to spec as possible. guess i'm just trying to let people know that camber isn't a fashion in vip, but for function. oh, but it is fashion. if they didn't want that camber to show off a really wide wheel under stock body, they would have put on a widebody kit. you dont really think they really drive around with that much camber do you?
i sure as hell hope that americans aren't going to misinterpret it and think they're cool driving around with -50 degrees of camber. haha.. that's what i'm saying. it's just for clearances. and i ran what, like, 0.2 degrees toe out on that 86. the others i kept at zero. my toe changes didn't affect the wear too much. a set of azenis on the front would last a couple months with that toe. then with the camber, they'd last a month at best before they were past the rubber and starting to bleed cords.. and i don't think drifiting had all that much to do with it, cause that's lateral wear and the rear cannot be adjusted due to the 4 link solid axle.
but they aren't driving around with that camber. if you want to know about how much tire wear is accelerated with this camber, ask viplife or one ton VIP about it. they ran their wheels like this.
Wouldn't a properly adjusted cambered tire wear like a narrower tire? Sure, it's uneven, but why should it be faster? Aren't you just reducing the contact patch?

Plus the more camber you have and stretch you have will determine how much actual tire tread you have contacting the road..if you are rolling on a litte bit of tread and side wall ,,guess what ?? the edges are not designed to be rolled on and will wear extremely fast along with slittling..
i dd with camber and stretched tires. yeah i'm crazy.
Lol!

Most milder examples like a lot of members here seem to have most of the tire still on the ground. Shouldn't be too bad then? all my car's weight is resting on 175 tires now anyways

even with a few degrees of camber you will still have more weight on the inside of the contact patch. it may look as if the tire is completely touching the ground, but the inside is under immense stress. it's extremely dangerous to drive like this around town. as i said, you will easliy lock up the brakes, have bad traction, and accelerated tire wear. the only time you have full contact is at high speeds on the outside tires.
. it's extremely dangerous to drive like this around town. as i said, you will easliy lock up the brakes, have bad traction, and accelerated tire wear. quote] I agree to an extent..Little camber is not dangerous at all infact you should know this beeing a Benz dude, most high end german cars come stock with a little - camber..not dangerous at all and allows more tranction in cornering..but a lot of camber yeah is dangerous and could cuase major damage especially if your tires are streched to the max..but to some it is what it is and they are willing to take that chance and some no.. Me I like - camber to an extent..I think I am about anyware from - 2-5 camber on my Q and may need a bit more to fit some wheels but I dont care and am willing to take that risk..Once this car is done it wont be on the roads all day..I will park it and start another project whether it be VIP or something else...My worries right now are to make it lower, nice camber and nice stance..and nice shoes..

My car came with crappy all season 215 or whatever tires. 225/245 high performance tires will perform at least as well, even with 4 deg. of camber. and who cares about tire wear? It's mostly toe that wear out tires, not camber. Just flip them and get new ones when they wear out. If you don't want to deal with that, simple - don't run neg camber. Why are you so worried about what other people do?
Ah, I understand. Fortunately for me, I won't have to have much camber. Worst come to worst, I'm up for a little bodywork. cvc - he's just answering my question. I do in fact care about tire wear ..to some extent. I'll be using my summer tires for about 4 months this year, I'd like to be able to use them again next year for at least half the summer.
oh sure, 1-2 degrees on a DD is great if you drive fast around town. no objections to that at all. once i find a damn MB spring compressor to drop my 126, i'm going to readjust the camber for a few degrees as i tend to drive very fast. i just can't over do it cause i'm more of a highway driver. and it'll just kill my fresh falken ziex. i love the highspeed battle though! and in the benz, it's completely safe to dig deep into triple digits. another thing about the camber has to do with airbags though. when you dump it, it's naturally going to change the geometry. but when lifted back to a reasonable height, the camber should be just enough to clear the fenders. but personally, i don't think it's a good look in excess. perfectly flush wheels with a little bit of tire stretch are the hot ticket IMO.

looks like you were rubbing the sidewall on something under the box.... either way... OUCH!!!
not too extreme, but -5 nonetheless. aireck, arent you rollin on -5?
that looks more like -3. -5 is pretty damn extreme.

i had camber shims that corrected toe and camber shims that didn't. i dunno which ones that lava colored xb is running but it sure dont look like they correct toe at all. thats a lot of wear for 5 degrees. i was a 4.75 on the alignment computer. and my wheels were more cambered than that, but it still wasn't wearing the tires like that. the sidewall was worn down and the tires shoulda been flipped before they were that bald, look at the other side of the tire, its cherry!.. that was my xb...
^^wow that box is high...lol!! j/p Joey...
I ran -6 in the rear of my old car with no issues. I checked the pressure every other day or so, and had my tires rotated horizontaly every few months. My tires lasted about 7 months in the rear and about 12 months in the front. My car handled fine, I had no issues with breaking, turning, accelerating, etc.
LOL @ this whole thread. IBTL
i ran the -5 GARSON cambers, and the wheels were only 15 and not 18>. the cambers may look decieving since its a smaller wheel and due to the offset, i couldnt drop it further down or i wouldve been eating fenders. visually i lost the aggressive effect. i had -3 before, and the tires held up alot longer. regards to the -5 tires, i believe that improper tire pressure done its deeds. tires were cheap and being "directional", i was too lazy to flip and switch them.
Like some have already said, its the toe and tire pressure that will be the main contributors of inner tire wear, not camber.
8 months now at >6 degrees camber on the rear. Toe was set for docile response (i.e. toe in), so i flipped tyres at 6 months. I have since set it for zero toe and the car feels much more responsive, as well as reducing tire wear. I have done tests in the wet and on dry and cant tell any difference in braking distances. And the car sits bloody tight on corners too (going as fast as i am willing to go around a corner)
HOLY CRAP DOM'S BACK. ladies and gentlemen, this man's car is awesome. hopefully he post's some pictures of his wheel setup so you can see the camber he runs.
