air runner question

what happens to your wheel alignment when using something like air runners? with the changes in ride height, doesn't it affect stuff like caster and toe?

Yeah, whenever you do something to your suspension you'll need a proper alignment. Also, when you drop it, you'll have negative camber so you'll need to adjust it so that the camber is where you want it for daily driving when it's at driving height, not dumped.

firelizard- Not all cars will camber when slammed. Some cars with solid rear beams will toe in instead of camber in like Scions. So not ALL cars will camber in. But yes i was told you should get your alignment done to the height that you would normally drive your car at. That is what i did. :)

Does anyone buy toe arms and RUCA's? Or is the toe and camber not that bad? I know it depends on how low you go, but in general?

It actually depends more on the car... different cars have drastically different suspensions...
And you want to set alignment at ride height, cuz that's the height at which you will be doing most of your driving, of course. You really don't care about alignment at any height above that since you'll usually only go up to clear obstacles (speed bumps and driveways, etc.), and any height below that since you really only should go down down when parked. 

getting an alignment done at ride height isnt that big of a deal. mine's been bagged for about 7 months and i have yet to align it. plus, after time from going up and down it gets off line anyways.

exactly. i know many people that have been using air for yearrrs and and have never gotten an alignment. just find the sweet spot and driiiive

Rule of thumb is to alighn when ever you mess with the suspension. But then again I have installed over 5000 air kits so no I didnt align every single one. The camber is not so bd as the toe. Negetive and positive toe have different effects on the handeling but they also both effect tire wear. At least have a look at the toe after you instal. Some of the cars I have done air on needed the toe set just to get it out of the shop.

yeah toe is the main thing. we don't do alignments after the many many air installs unless the customer requests it, or like dxjp said, the toe is too bad to move it haha. 

GIve me a few days Ill post up a How to bag over. You should be able to print it and take it to any machine shop worth their salt to get the parts made. You can do this on virtuly any car and do it for under 1800 with valves and a air kit.  I designed this kit like 8 years ago. The reason I went Cylinders is becouse I could sell 10X more kits for hondas than than anything I could bag.

I will post pix and demensions of all the components this is really cake and has been copied a tousand times so I could care less how many of you use it. Guys in the shops this will drop your cost on buying from somewhere else.
