The problem with this is if they have the resources. I don't think there are enough vip cars or vip style cars to keep the magazine going unless its publish twice a year which is probably not worth it. The owner of this site was thinking about making a small publication like RPM mag .
im working on a VIPstyle in america dvd right now! teaser will be up in a few weeks :) a magazine would be awesome....hopefully soon we'll be that level in the states
I think there will be a few issues we will have with a US VIP mag 1) If the magazine is produced my a bigger publisher, There will be a lot of controversy between USD VIP and JDM VIP..We all know here what JDM vip is however a big Publisher will not see it this way..There is that whole other side of US VIP..such as hip hop artist cars and professional sportsman..Basketball,baseball and football players..they all have VIP cars to the common US eye.. 2) Magazine publishers look at as profit or loss,,there for what sells will be Dub style, US VIP cars, tuner cars..thats what I see happening with. 3) Most magazines have mini catalogs..Vendors to call, wheels shops to order from..How will an average US conusmer be able to purchase the items they see in the photos? Who wants to wiegth 6-8 weeks for wheels and aero..and 2-3 weeks for little things such as fusa, gitsuna and cutains???think about it most people do not have patience..not only that alot of parts are for RHD cars, which means Japanese manufactures would have to start building the tables, floor mats wood kits, leather kits and more for the USDM market..I just dont see this happening any time soon my 2 pesos
There will be a lot of controversy between USD VIP and JDM VIP
One big debate we get here on the forums! A magazine just purely VIP cars / VIP Style Cars would be beautiful. First things first, lets get VSC up and running cleanly

I doubt there will be a VIP USDM mag out anytime soon. I can see Import Tuner, Super Street, and Modified Exotic to have VIP sections. I dont think we have enough people into the scene/cars for an eexclusive mag.
a specific magazine, no, like everyone said, but an insert in the bigger magazines in the U.S. right now, for sure or at least a section. Now the real question is this...... who's going to turn away the magazines when they come knocking on our doors for spreads in their magazines? I mean I agree the majority of us are skeptical of the wide spread of the style but will we decline coverage of our own vehicles due to our principles?
It can be done. There is a magazine around here on the east called plush. Its a magazine dedicated to everyday joes in the tristate (but mainly cats from brooklyn) with hot cars. It comes out once every two months sometimes every three months because they cant get enough rides that are worthy of the mag. I can see a VIP Style mag coming out once every two months. Once the mag is out, more people will want part of it. I just hope it stays on the right path and they dont make exceptions just so they can fill up pages.

great concept. and yes IMO a magazine can totally be done. it doesn't have to fall within strict vip platforms but it SHOULD have a certain level of style and worthiness. i think drifting is/was gets more attention than vip, and they barely put out a magazine, no more than a quarterly publication afaik.
D-Sport is monthly innit?
