The last suspension set up I did on a Cressida was Susp. Techniques springs and KYB inserts.

PM me if you need the parts.

VIP "style" Cressida yes, there will never be a VIP Cressida. Just clarifying. My friend Justin has one sort of VIP styled. There's a thread here that has pics of it.

emphasis on the word "style". cressies aren't a VIP car, but a great candidate for doing VIP style mods. and i'm pretty sure there are no crossovers from an AE86 or AE92 to a cressy. AE86s have 4 link rear and i'm almost positive cressies have IRS. i know there's a cressy forum (can't remember the name), so google it and you'll find people more knowledgable about your particular car.

The WHEELS could be interchangeable with the AE86... low offset, 4x114.3

I'm pretty sure the suspensions are different; don't forget, the AE86 has a
live rear axle, the Cressida is independent rear, if I recall correctly.

Also, the Cressida is probably 400 lbs. heavier than the AE.

i'm pretty sure AE86s run 4x100 lug pattern, but the cressy should be 5x114.3, besides, you'd probably want a low offset aftermarket 18/19 x 8/9 wheel to suit the cressy. and these cars are pretty heavy and not too reliable when pushed. spend money on maintanence first. no sense in having a good looking saloon if it runs like shit, smokes, and has a spongey shift.

wtf happened to it? not enough activity? not enough members? last time i checked it there were a million topics entitled "7MGE blown head gasket". hahaha.. there should be a few mods you can do such as sway bars, sport springs, dampers.. certainly nothing extensive, but you might be more interested in an airbag setup. very popular amongst the VIP crowd.

No worries man, it's all good. Don't let that stop you from making your own vision come to reality. We're here to help you and also to inform those that don't know or don't understand what all makes a VIP car and what all gives a car the style. Just be sure to use the search function thoroughly anytime you're about to post a question that you might have. Usually you'll find the answer without having to wait for a response.

dude. cut me a break. i've owned four AE86s, but that was three years ago. you get rusty on the details when you have a shitload of cars. guess i was thinking 5x114.3 on my Z31 turbo and 4x100 on MX5s, 86s, and mk2 GTIs. just mixed em up. if the suspension on the front of the cressy is identical to 86s, then the solution is simple..

technotoytuning.com has great RCAs (roll center adjusters) which you may or may not need depending on how low you intend to lower the ride height. general rule of thumb for optimal roll center is to make sure the lower control arms are perfectly (horizontally) level with the ground. another simple, cost effective way to do things is to take your factory strut housing, cut off the lower spring perch, weld on a threaded sleave for coilovers, snag some cusco camber plates, and throw in some tokico HTS adjustable short stroke dampers. it's a cake walk and won't cost much money. need further help, send a PM since alot of members want to act like dickheads toward me when i'm just trying to help out another member.. but thanks for correcting me on the lug pattern. guess i'm getting old..

i don't know about your year but ground control does sell coilovers for the mx83. The GC/Koni Yellow combo for the mx83 is almost 900. And as far as the cressida 1st vip trust me your not the 1st. I'm in the process of disassemblying my cressida. So far its had a BN sports ver. 1 kit, 5 spd swap, 7mge-t na-t, a bunch of rims, RSR springs with Koni Yellows, and an HKS CF Ti exhaust. Maybe a 1st for your year but yea definately not the 1st.
