lips question

hi guys!! im just wondering...im planning to buy some rims soon and im just wondering are having wide lips is a must??? for vip styiling ? and is it ok if its chrome?

A nice sized lip is a must IMO depending on the rim!
I would say maybe at least a 2 inch lip at the very least!
It's up to you and how you make it work for your car. IMO

lips are nice, bigger lips are nicer, but not necessary. I only have a 2 inch killer.

It totally depends on the style of wheel and the shape of the wheel face.  Some of the concave face wheels like mine will get you smaller dish sizes, but the concave look of a full face wheel has an allure of it's own.  Big dish used to be the must have, but with the way things are changing in Japan it's not a must any longer if you plan to emulate their style.  Just be sure that the offset is right and the fitment is right or the stance will be way off and you'll have Battleship (sunken crappy fitment).  Work that flushness and you'll be safe with nearly any wheel.  Chrome is still always good as long as it suites the wheel style.

it all depends on the fitment of your wheels. ive seen wheels with smalllips but the wheels were flush and it looked great. just make them flush and your golden.

Not necessary at all.

Just has to look good overall.

I think it depends on what style you are headed towards.

I see a lot of cars in the mags and web that are tucking there tires in..I am guessing they are on air and its for clearance..and flushness is not the key :confused: 
 
My point is this,,just depends on what your plans are for your car.:thumbsup:

The point now is about being LOW. They arent on air, well most of them arent anyway (coilovers still most popular). And they usually still have low offset wheels, just tucked hard to make sure the undercarriage can be as low to the ground as possible

There are many nice looking 1 piece wheels which do not offer lip at all and still look nice as long as they're flush. However 2 or 3 piece wheels I would say fit the biggest dish u can
