Fender Pulling?
I hear this term used a lot. Im curious as to if theres a certian way everyones doing this or if its just a generic term for modding the fenders..
If any of you have this done, please enlighten me on how you are doing so..

I've done what i like to call a mild pull......but it certantly helped alot.....
it got rid of the rubbing.
I take a hammer and a piece of board ( for those of you with no gap...you must jack car up enough to fit board) I stick the forks inside the fender.
make sure the forks are touching the actual rolled part of the lip to prevent indentions.
now start applying pressure to hammer downward using board for support.
you may wrap the fork of the hammer with a terry cloth towel for better protection.
Remember, your just stretching the metal a tad to give you clearance. you shouldnt be able to tell....in other words it should not change the look of your fender

I had my front fenders 'pulled' about 1cm for clearance, using a fender roller. Its the same thing as a normal fender roll, but they keep massaging the fender back and forth until it starts to come out a little from the metal stretching.
IMO anything more than 1" starts to look a little ghetto though, because it always ends up making a little ski-ramp that i usually associate with drift cars. If i needed that much clearance i would take the wheels off until i could afford to get some small metal flares welded on like they do in Japan

how about just shaving the front fenders? is this OK to do for the front fenders?

so is it possible to do a minor pull with out damaging the paint ??? or is that
extremely hard?

so we are talking taking a claw hammer, and putting a board on the tire so the hammer doesnt just push the tire in. Then prying outward on the hammer to bend the fender out slightly?
If so i am painting my car here in a few weeks, I may take a stab at doing this. I already took a large lead hammer and beat the hell out of that rear lip inside the fender folding it back inside as opposed to cutting it. Just for the sheer purpose that if i cut it, i no longer have a legit pinch weld area and i would need to tig it back in place. I did this on my road course car, but its time consuming seeing as you need to get the voltage just right or it warps the quarter from heat.
I have no interest in fender flares though..
The main issue id assume is going to be sketchy about my particular setup is the rear door follows right along the wheel well. I cant really go too extreme or ill be into the door.

use a heat gun to soften up the paint and roll the lip flat, but take your time. i rolled my lip flat without damaging/cracking the paint. but i figured im gonna end up repainting the whole car anyways so f$ck it, still used a heat gun but didnt take my time and it cracked here and there.
word of advice if you are using a heat gun to either prevent cracking or aiding in rolling/pulling have a damp shammy (sp?) or car washing spounge soaked with water beside you. when you heat it and rolled it, go over the area with your damp spounge to shock the heated metal/paint into place. as you heat metal, the molecules expand, as it air dries naturally they contract. while the metal is heated and pulled how you like it, when you force cool it with cold water the metal is shocked into that position, it wont have a tendency to spring back. same applies for the paint. then repeat if you want to roll/pull more. hope this helps a bit.

i was on a roll till the focking hammer handle broke off. guess i need something more stout like a pry bar.. but its working. Ill just need to do a little bodywork to the fender now but its all good i need to anyhow, theres some dings and shit in it from some clown switching lanes into me on one side, and the other has a small door ding.

This is an OK video on how to do it yourself. Little ghetto, but it may work for some of you.

Thats what I thought too. Isn't rolling your fenders pushing the fender lip up inside the fender, kinda like folding paper. And pulling your fender is when you pull the fender lip outside the fender, then work the metal smooth? kinda like widebodyQ's car. well, at least that what I thought the differences where

exactly rolling the fenders means: eliminating the inner lip on the quater panel/fender while pulling the fenders requires body work and it cannot be done without re-spraying the panel. It is not an easy task to pull the fenders, but once it's done it makes the car so much wider and better looking. you can see the difference between this stock Wagon and the one with the pulled panels

heres mines, rolled, pulled, cambered to (try and) fit 19x10 -2. came out pretty good, but now theres body work and paint. now i have even more of a reason to spray the whole car...

ill gt better pictures soon. i think i might get rims with like a 19x10 +5, or +10 something like that so i dont have to camber, or max camber....
question though, before i rolled and pulled with my AX's. my rear would bottom out and my tires would not rub. now with the fabos, when i bottom out, the tires rub mean. what can i do so that my suspension bottoms out at a higher hieght, and doesnt rub my tires? i was thinking about returning my bump stops but i threw those out.
or when i bag it, i was thinking of fabricating it in such a way that all the way aired out, it sits just above the rim, or just above rubbing the tires... at times i think it was a mistake rolling and pulling it this much...

u always have to roll it
that just means u roll that inner lip to get more clearance for tires or rim offset
i did mine on my car with a sledge hammer
theres no bondo or body work done other than me hitting it
i have the crease on my driver side
my paint is actually really bad these pics make it look way too nice
my car:
just a roll, lots of camber to make it fit
not the best pic, but its the only one i have of it before i pulled it

Your paint looks killer to me, im just gonna set on some overfenders for my s13 till i wack into a few guardrails. Then put them over the mangled stock ones. Fresh as new! haha. Im still debating on paint for it at this point.
Looks good though.. What size rear tire and what width.. Id assume like at least a 15mm offset right? And running spacers in the front?
well theres 3 sizes for s13 rears, 30mm 50mm and 70mm
i run 17x9 +30 with 30mm spacers so 17x9 +0, with 215/45/17 tires all around
id prefer 215/40 though
the paint is made better in pics, im not trying to sound modest, its just terrible
anyways
