VIP or NOT.. this GS is gangsta!!!

just browsing through minitruckin sites and found a GS laying on frame. this baby is really sweet. other than the rims, everything is cherry!

Nice car but, wheels would not have been my choice..and the  inside, well I think that is to many tv's in the front..especially with that huge big one in the middle..but hey its that fools money so if it made him/her happy good for them.:thumbsup:

i thought wheels make and break a car?
cheap chrommies = breaks the car..
so how can "nice car BUT" be an accurate statement?
i think that car has some nice "custom" stuff that would go
great in a DUB show or Importshowoff, but i dunno about it
being classy or in that catagory.

i think all that "crazy" work inside actually cheapened the look
of the car significantly.. its too cheesey now compared to 
the way the car came.. but like i was thinking, if he's after
that importshowoff or dub show/look, i guess its nice.

i like everything but the wheels..

i don't like the upside down lexus logo on the rear of the car.
i dont' like the billet grill.
i don't like the billet material in the lower part of the front fascia.
i don't like the interior.
i don't like the wheels.
i don't like the choice of mufflers.

i do like the color.

i'd take gato's black cherry gs over this everyday of the week.

Dont try to disect everything that comes out ones fingers...it will just lead to rediculous arguments..if its correct grammer or not..its niether true or  false its just an opinion my opinion :thumbsup:

i may be wrong, but i don't think he's pointing out a grammar issue, as much as he's pointing out the accuracy (or lack thereof) of the statement itself.  if it's a nice car, it's a nice car.  but if you have to point out what isn't nice about it, then is it really a nice car?

other than the height of this car, i'm not really sure why we're talking/writing about it anyway.  unless of course this is a beginner's course/discussion about the way in which [b]not[/b] to try and do a vehicle in a vip style.

how can it lay frame when it's got the l-tuned kit on it? i don't it when when people say that, just because the kit is touching the ground. now if it was stock body, then i would understand the wording. oh, yeah, it's ugly. not the kit, just everything else on the car.

I saw this car in an issue of Lowrider Euro a couple years ago. I liked it back then but not so much anymore. Still love the color though.

First you have the car itself..it is not a bad looking car in fact I think its nice..my opinion.
 
2nd you have the wheels.. I don't like the wheels and I agree they are ugly..

You see the car and wheels as a whole. I see the wheels and car separate. So , you can have a nice car with ugly wheels...and a ugly car with nice wheels or a nice car with nice wheels..its how you view things.

the over all "look" of the car including the wheels
and interior/dash, made it look cheesy..  and thats why i
don't feel that car too much, yes if he changed his wheels
it'd be a BIG improvement, as well as making the interior nicer.

Kit, ride height, paint, and exterior looks ok.
 
Interior, exhaust, and wheels are terrible.
 
I agree with Gato.. Looks ghetto regardless for some reason even with the photoshop of the eurolines on it..

Agreed could be a nice car the interior is way too overdone imo,the grills gotta go and I wont even waste my time on what I think about then wheels I think were all pretty much not feeling this car so gangsta its not...sorry.

Typical american way of fixing up cars, ...the more the better...more chrome, more monitors, more stupid things like turning a logo upside down, etc.

That car was originally owned by my friend and neighbor, Paul Trainor.

He made the mistake of going too far with the car and empowering the
audio shop to make too many style decisions with the car, including
the ghetto wheels. Paul admitted to me the car was a "bloody f---ing mess"
(with his Scottish accent... it was pretty hilarious) and that he took a bath
on it when he sold it. Now he has a CLS 500 and a BMW 650 cab.

Also, keep in mind this car was built in 2001...

2001 this car was modded..I would like to add this..

This was probably close to being new when this dude decided to build his car. Regardless of how it turned out, dude probably had the money to do with what he wanted...Just think about when Lexus changed to this body style. The cars was not that old..so food for thought.
 
I think that most of you here thinks that the buck stops here whene it comes to car modding..and thats sad because you fools can't appreaciate someone elses project..I dont think this forum is the place to be posting non VIP styled cars, do to the attack of the killer VIP's

I remember this car.  Back when I put the GS together JP wise, I had the pleasure of competing against this guy.  I mean, Yea, its not our cup of tea, but at the same time, someone was sitting there working on it for a good amount of time.  I remember his Air Sus setup and I was trying to figure out at the time.  

Either way, I just remember his Sub setup going thru the middle of the car =X

even if the car was built in 2001, it's way too gaudy for my taste regardless of the year.
your suburban looks fine (not a fan of the tails, but that was all the rage back then), and i'd rock it way before that gs.

can i appreciate the amount of time that went into making it (the gs) look like that? sure.  that doesn't mean that i'm going to like it because countless hours were spent making the interior look like that.

i can appreciate other styles.  so can a lot of other people. (we had a thread on other styles of cars/vehicles, but it may have been on the older version of this forum as i can't seem to locate it right now.  but appreciation of a project and actually liking it are two different things.

to use the argument that if your car is not better, than you shouldn't say anything about a car/vehicle that's been posted is a pretty poor argument.  whether you drive a broken down ford pinto, a stock lexus ls430, a modified bmw m3, a stock 1998 toyota 4runner, or some other car doesn't stop/prevent you from having an opinion, nor shoudl it stop/prevent you from sharing that opinion.

interestingly enough, the only person who used the word "ghetto" was gato.  and according to you, because gato's car is better, he's allowed to use the word.  so, i suppose we'd have to ask gato what his definition of "ghetto" is.

as far as my defintion, my understanding of the word is that initially it was the term used for jewish neighborhoods/enclaves in pre-world war 2 germany.  years later, we used it in this country (the u.s.) as a term for poor neighborhoods where ethnic minorities live.

today, the words "ghetto" and " 'hood" are synonymous.  with the commercialization of hip-hop, and artists who are sold to us as "hood" or "ghetto" have a certain style or flair about themselves.  whether it be 50 cent rocking an escalade with lambo doors in a video, or snoop's laker mobile, etc. etc. we (as consumers)  seem to see a certain style, which is similar to, if not exactly the same as, dub style.
