planning VSC Meet in San Diego during my trip - UPDATED PAGE 3

During the 1st 2 weeks of August, I will finally make a trek back home to San Diego!  (YAY Super Sergios!!!!!).  I wanted to plan a small meet or get-together just to see everyone, old friends and new ones.  Obviously, I want to take pictures and also find some cars I can use for upcoming features for "upcoming projects".  

If you guys know a place where we can get together to talk shop and allow me the space to take pics of the cars in a group and individually, please make suggestions.  I haven't been home in San Diego since months so I'm not as keen to scenery anymore.  

but man, I miss home.  I should probably just drive my GS out there for this trip for fun.

recap.  Lets pick a date, find a place to do the photoshoot and talk shop, and just relax and say whats up to all of you guys

I might be up there in august..Not with my car but with my Boat..hope to take the kids skiing...it would be cool to meet some of you....

I'm down for anything, plus it gives us enough time to buy more stuff for our rides.

I grew up in San Diego...  Heading down there so the familia can meet my 5mos old son.  I have so much to do down there in so little time.  

but do not hesitate to post any ideas on where and what not.  I'll post a date as we get closer...

Do you like Seafood? if so Anthonys Fish Grotto is a must..I'm not sure if you have been there but man is it good.

Cant turn down a good Barbque...I will deff need to look that up. One place I look forward to as well is Corvetts for a great Burger in downtown SD...Man I miss living in SD...I raelly do...

keep in mind in aug there's 4 shows goin on.

5th - spocom
12th - funkmaster flex show
18th - import showoff lil tokyo
25th - hin

maybe the 4th or 11th?

We can do the 4th just to get everyone together.  Then during the week, any individual photoshoots we can set up can happen then :thumbsup:

I had my friends that were doing "wrong" things, and then I had my friends that I went to comic con with

A sunday is fine with me.  We can probably make this an official VSC Summer meet of some sort?  What do you guys think?

I just signed up here today, so let me begin by saying, "what up er'body," and I'm a San Diego native. There is an Eibach summer meet on August 4th in Corona, so you may want to avoid that date. I'd like to try and check both of these meets out so...

Yea, that's what makes it fun to crash! Everyone has a Honda and you pull up in your Luxuary Sedan with rims that eclipse there's in price and size! It's great!!!!!:giggity: 
But I heard the popo's are usally swarming this meet! Not that I have to worry!:shrug:

i think lake miramar would be a good spot for a meet too.  smallwonder had a bbq there on 4th of july and it wasn't even crowded.  there's plenty of parking, plus we can bbq and kick it or whatever.  or maybe meet up everybody at autofashion and then roll out to lake miramar?  sound cool?

Interested in attending an industry Focus Panel.  This would be an event-within-an event. Admission would be for spectators. Is that what you meant?

Simply put, we'll be bringing in members of the industry to speak with a select group of enthusiasts about trends, issues, opinions, etc. The details have not been determined yet, but it shouldn't take too much time (if any) away from the show. And, we'll throw in tickets. If there's enough interest we'll make some calls and get it done. In that case I'll start a thread and collect contact information from people on here.

Well, the [I][B]panelists[/B][/I] will be the ones to dictate how VIP is presented. These are chances for consumers to voice their opinions and for the aftermarket to listen. 

But enough thread-bogarting, I'm interested in the details for the SD meet.

I wonder who will be in this panel... I hope they really know what there talking about because they will be representing all of VIP Culture here in the US.  This should be good.  Ok ok lets get back to the meet  =) i hope that everyones cars are done by then and also hope everyones cars are ready for the show.  I wont have my car there at HIN but i know people that will be there.

Let me know when the meet is going to be John.  You should hit up L.A for a meet too on your way up to get back to the Bay Area.  
 
We'll be showing 3 VIP cars at HIN, PM if you want more info.

Man Sd has some crazy ass VIP cars, thanks to Autofashion.  I hope I get my rims by then so i can atleast look decent by you guys.

What do you guys think?  Originally I planned for the weekend of the 4th / 5th, but with SpoCom on the 5th, the 4th seemed feasible.  I would like to get this finalized this weekend, and I will hopefully coordinate a place and time once we get the exact day available.  anyone with ideas, please let me know.  I know Freddie offered to use AF on a sunday, but then it seems that a sunday is out of the question?  

Like I said, I would like to get this finalized in the next 24 hours or so we can make this official and we can plan for a good turn-out

After looking at my schedule, and then realizing that SpoCom is on the 5th of Aug, I think the ONLY free weekend day I got is July 28th on a Saturday.  Its the first time I've been in San Diego since my son was born so I have a lot of family activites planned.  The only day I had open was the 28th, since I was just going to be a geek and check out Comic-Con, but I'd much rather throw a meet with AF being the kind hosts.

Date = July 28, 2007

Place = AutoFashion 

Time = Noon til whenever.

I would like to shoot a few cars so that might take some time and I don't want to shoot them til around 5ish or so.  Either way, this is pretty much set in stone.

i'm down for that but it's really up to the big boss. i hope everything works out. sorry i won't be ready for the photoshoot.
