in a small dilema, need some advice

ok guys, I'm in a slight dilema.

I have the opprunity to purchase a set of used 19" work euroline DH 3 piece dish wheels. It's a high offset fittment (19x8 via 45 offet) and perfect for my 1999 acura RL.

I currently have a set of 19" carlsson 1/6 evo's on my RL. My original plan was to save my 19" carlsson 1/6 evo for a 1998-1999 Lexus LS400. The current market price difference between my acura RL and a 1998-1999 lexus would be about $4500 dollars.

My current acura RL is in great shape, I just did the major timing belt water pump service and replaced the engine/transmission mounts which set me back about 1900 bucks total.

What do you guys think I should do? should I wait a bit and go for the LS400 or should I just go for the 19" work wheels for my current acura RL. 

the most practical thing for me to do is to just put my stock 16" wheels back on but hey, if we were practical we wouldn't be riding on 19" 35 series tires right ? 

I really like the WORK euroline wheels and it would give new life to my car. On the flip side, I really like the lexus LS400 but I would have to go through the hassle of selling my car, buying another one and an additional 4500-5000 dollars - not to mention the risk of another used car.

I don't know what to do. what you guys think ?

It depends on which car you are more loyal to. My advice would be this: Drive your RL around. Get a feel for it, take in all of the factors such as performance, handling, comfort, styling, etc. Then test drive an LS. Do the same thing and compare the two together. Whatever car you truly [i]enjoy[/i] more should be the one you choose.

I am confused. What is the offset of the wheels you propose saving for the LS? Being as how this is a VIP car forum, you will probably be encouraged toward the Lexus. I personally think you should stick with what you have and put the money into making your car that much better. I mean, that 4500 dollars could go a long way towards that Acura.

the offset is 40 via 19x8.5 , this was specific for a lexus-infiniti.

anyhow I decided to stick with my RL. The car is in excellent running shape and I know everything about it, it would make no sense to give it up.

I am now the proud owner of a set of 19" work euroline DH wheels, damn they were practically brand new.

ha well you maid your choice but if it still stood i would go vip style on the rl mucho potential there just have to know where to start. 

i say stay with the RL. no doubt the LS has much more pimp factor but you know your RL like no other. i have had my accord for7 years or so and i wouldnt trade it for anything else. its paid for and its one of a kind. i say buy a beater, save up for some extreme wheels and go wide on the RL, make a scene.

What lexus does that fit? 19x9 +20 and 19x10+20 can fit in a ucf10 with rolled fenders and a little camber with stretched tires.

those should be nice on your RL . I'm glad your sticking with it !
I agree that 19x8.5 +40 would not look good on any ufc10/20 etc

thanks for the advice guys, sticking with the RL was just the more practical thing to do. The work euroline DH I picked up has a really nice lip considering it's for a front wheel drive acura, it doesn't look anorexic like most front wheel drive fittments, this is a huge reason I grabbed on to these wheels. 

My additional mild plans for the RL is to just lower it with coilovers

I believe the japanese fittment carlsson 19x8.5 via 40 offset was made specifically for the ls400-ls430-gs300-gs400-gs430. It's just a standard fittment with no modifications required. It won't be super "VIP STYLE" wide like we are all used to but it will still be alot wider looking than stock.

what about engine and exhaust mods did you take into consideration you would be out of the box on that plus some would like to see.

I don't think engine and exhaust mods would make a huge overall difference especially on a RL, there really isn't much I can do with it, although a nice exhaust would make it look nice. 

cosmetically, I think lowering and wheels make the biggest difference.

you'd be suprised but i would consider a nice exhaust though maybe just a axle back.

look at the sizing chart for japanese fittment lexus vehicles.

it's a conservative sizing because it's a simple full face, non lip design, non staggered. I know you guys are into maximized sizing fittments for maximum lip and maximum width but this is the way it is offered by Carlsson.
