Bodykit Fitment Question

I have a Black SC430.:giggity: I want to order a body kit for it. The problem is I never put a body kit on before. The most intensive car moding I did was opening up the console to disconnect the plug for the beeping caused by the broken tire monitor. So I order this thing and it gets to my house. How do you put it on? Do you bring it somewhere special or DIY? How do I get this body kit on where it arrives. Im looking for nice rims to. I want something that blings alot on the move, I like how lipped 5 spokes look with the sc, but one with a deepdish even looked nice. :dance:

First question would be is it pre-painted? Because if not you need to hit the bodyshop. In most cases people take it to the bodyshop to have it fitted and any extra fitting work done at that time. Almost all kits NEVER fit perfectly and require some fine tuning. Yes, some of us do it ourselves, but it's not for everyone. As far as the wheels are concerned what about these?

Whatever kit you get, best thing to do is take it to a bodyshop to have it professionally fitted and painted. Less headaches that way.

What i would suggest is that if you dont know what your doing then leave it to the professionals.  This doesnt mean only bodyshops but u can have a friend that knows how to do it or a local performance shop do it.  Pretty simple!

Leave them to the pro....it saves time too

unless you own a body shop(which is sounds like  not)...you own a SC430....take it to the bodyshop.

save some money and do it yourself :)

i second that!  make sure you do some homework on the shop you are taking it to.
 
Doing it yourself is ok, only if you know what you are doing.

For best results you will need the 3 necessities.

1. Zip Ties
2. Duct tape
3. Rattle can

EDIT: OH and I almost forgot glue stick and glue gun for the tricky areas [img]http://vipstylecars.com/forums/images/icons/icon6.gif[/img]

but on a serious note. Vip cars should always look perfect and should always be done at a bodyshop, unless you're a bodyman (but not from the sounds of it). There's no real point of trying to fit it anyways because the bodyshop is just going to take it off again when they paint it.

If you get a high end body kit, things should bolt right up. Most high end aero manufactures deliver aero predrilled and ready to mount.

HOWEVER, there will be prepwork involved painting the kit and there might be minor fitment issues which is where professional bodywork is needed.

It sounds like you are novice, therefore I agree with most members on this thread and take it to a professional. Food for thought however, you get what you pay for. Get [u]real authentic[/u] aero when shopping around. You'll be happier and your body shop will be happier as well.

Don't mess around with cheap replicas.
