side markers in the trunk????

before you say anything no im not trying to be ricey in any way.  the light i have in the trunk now is pretty dim and its where i want to mount my amp.  well just conjured up the idea to use a set of clear side markers on the sides of the trunk for lighting.  i was thinking about a LED stick but dont know if the light is going to spread out or just a certain spot.

You can pretty much wire anything 12v anywhere in your car as long as you don't put too much stuff on an existing circuit and blow its fuse.

LoL, i have indicators in my engine bay :)
 
its because i have replaced the actual indicator globes with LEDs and this is easier than trying to find a replacement flasher

u should consider a flourescent light

replace the fuse with a bigger one

if you replace the fuse with a bigger one, you need to up the wiring....

You can run a few LED strips, and place them all deck lid, or place them upwards towards a reflector shield and have it space the light out that way? 

OR you can just run conical LED bulbs, that will spread out the light way more than regular LED's do, and just spotlight it to where it will cover a broad area.

you should be ok with the stock wiring if u stay under 20 amps ......and I doubt a light would draw that much......

I replaced my trunk light with two 6" blue neons that used to be under my dash..no fuse problems, LEDs you're in the clear for sure.

But I think that if you're not sure, running a seperate circuit would be even better so you can control exactly how much current and where.

do the led bars scatter the light or does it just light up a certain area?  and who makes a 12volt flourescent light?

but honestly, it doesnt matter, it will run either way

I owned a 1995 Civic DX coupe at one time, and there wasn't a light in the trunk when I purchased it.  I just went to Walmart later that night and purchased a set of cheap foglights that were small enough to virtually mount anywhere under the rear deck.  A spring loaded switch can be found at a local electronics parts store and can be used to trigger the lights to turn on when the trunk opens up.  It never failed an me and I think the total setup was about $40.
