Yer, but you wont be cursing the GTR calipers when slowing down from your highway races ;)

So jealous... A brand new set of those costs about the same for you as a secondhand set for anyone not living in Japan. And 2-3 weeks sure beats 3-4 months!

Very nice wheels. Tell me, with the lips taped off, can they be mounted like that? I'd like to use masking tape to cover up the lips (for added protection of scuffs) and take them to a shop that could mount tires, would they have problems with the tape?

No need to sound defensive. I just wanted to know if adding that layer to the lips would actually help, to me theoretically it sounds like it would help when a mounter is reverse mounting the tire. How come you don't take your stuff to shops?

Yes, it does help. The guy who polished my lips said you MUST put tape on there if you dont want scuff marks on it from the tyre fitting machine. Just a layer of masking tape all the way around....

Thanks guys, I just noticed on new wheels that they come from the factory with that protective layer. Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread, just thought it was somewhat a related topic since the wheels in the pics have it, I figure let's elaborate more on what its there for, not only for packaging protection, but for tire mounting as well. The wheels are very cool. They have a design that from far away looks like they are just concaved spokes until you get up close and realize the spokes are reflecting in the lips.

Firelizard its not just this posts..there are many..It was just time to say something about it..I am not taking any sides but I think its important for the forum that we show eachother respect..as much as possible..you may not agree with it but it is my job to make sure things are running smooth...The fact that someone points out that he is getting deffensive is a sign for a mod to step in and say hey chill so it does not escalate..Also hopefully it will help with keeping infractions down..I am not trying to be a bad guy but I have seen folks get infractions on them for beeing rude to others..so I am trying to prevent that from happening....

See the problem is that there is guys with limited knowledge and there is guys with lots of knowledge. Just because a guy knows more doesn't mean you call him a know it all. You'd rather the guys with the knowledge not say anything? Don't always get on the defensive every time you read posts from certain people. There is always a few ways to perceive things and it seems you like to jump the gun before asking what their intentions were with their post. You seem to think I pick on you or god knows what..when really I don't. I hadn't had any problems or issues with you till I offered you some information which you took the wrong way. Remember, there is always someone out there who knows more than you, knows more than me, knows more than any of us. So don't be surprised when people have different levels of knowledge and also don't be surprised when people try to offer you assistance. They're only trying to help..not to tell you that you don't know anything...that's perception. I got an infraction for something similar, which was total BS..but the other Admin thought it was bogus too and felt I was justified, but I told him not to worry about it since I didn't care if I received it or not since the reason I got it was for protecting myself and my reputation from childish people. So that right there shows you perception varies amongst people and will in most cases not be shared.

Firelizard perceived what I did..that there was no ill intent in the post.

Presidente,
There is a level of maturity we all have to have regardless of how much you do or dont know..I dont have any beef with Grant..he seems to be a very well rounded with knowledge..however I sometimes dont agree with how he phrases things and think he could get the same point across
in a totally different manner as well as some other members..I will step in when I think its needed..where I come from its all about respect and if you want respect you give it ...its just not something that you automatically get you earn it.

I completely agree with you on that sentiment.

Wording things differently at the cost of not conveying your intended thoughts is not good though. We're also adults..or at least should act as such..which means we don't get bent when someone voices their thoughts or opinions and they don't match yours.

Seriously, it's the internet, we can't take everything so literally..this is all just people typing..so you can't see their face, feelings, or their expressions so don't judge their words as such. How many times do I have to mention how important perception is in the scheme of things. Don't ask people to change the way they type just to suite your needs, think about them and their feelings as an individual if you want to respect them. Respecting them would be not limiting them to typing how you wish them to, just let them be. Just my $0.02.

Exactly so I or someone else is perceiving some post as defensive or rude..don't you think you should take a step back and ask yourself why am I giving off this perception??? (you never do)

You need to follow your own advice and stop being a hypocrite..When someone gives you C&C or says anything about you,,YOU automatically get in defense mode and the other person is always in the wrong...(regardless)

President its enough!

I am just saying we need to respect this forum and others opinions and post! Grant is a cool dude and he has not made anything out of this...I believe he read it and handled it like ab adult while you Mr. Presidente you are continuing to escalate this topic as always and unless I say you are right you won't stop..

This is the kind of things I am talking about..Your not respecting my opinion once again. I am trying to be fair and stop things from getting out of hand as a MOD and you jump in and make it worse and test me..

Zion, you of all people shouldn't be lecturing others on respect. I never took any of this thread, prior to the post between you and elpresidente to be rude, condescending or disrespectful. I know that you are trying to give off a more mature attitude on here now, but plenty of us remember, or still have communications with you where you were anything but mature. Perhaps many of you take this messageboard a bit to serious.

On another note- Yakotas13 has one of the sickest cars on here:shrug:

Yes Grants car is nice never said it wasn't. I liked his last car as well.
