Redrilling from 5 * 114.3 to 5 * 112 Need Input

Well, my wheels in the classifieds don't seem to be getting much attnetion, so I am thinking of just keeping these wheels and having them redrilled. Here is my question: If I get these redrilled, would you even be able to tell the difference? Does anyone have a good shop in Orange County that they know of? Here is what they look like now

Would the wheel still look the same, even moving the pattern in slightly? Thanks

I don't think you can get them redrilled safely and without throwing the balance off...although it is just 2mm, it makes a big difference...haven't heard of anyone trying to redrill a 112 to a 114...of course anything is possible but how much will it affect the ride and rim...let us know how it goes...
 
just noticed that the center of your rims concave in...i'm sure this will be a huge problem considering it is ONLY made for 112...if you had something with a flat center, i'm sure it will be more plausible...and i'm also pretty sure you're already using an acorn style lug nut which won't help when drilling either since the holes will need to be tapered...

Don't people do this to put brabus wheels on nissans, and toyotas?

the only ones u can redrill are the ones with center caps on.. cause they more metal on side and it will cover it so wont look like crap! the ones above ..u dont wanna drill.. safety as well as not sure how they will look..

guys seem to get away with it ok with Brabus wheels though

To avoid redrilling on the rims, can the mods be done on the car instead? Is it safe??

can anyone else chime in?

do 5x112 conversion if thats possible to accomodate the wheels (for example a lot of honda people change from 4x100 to 5x114)

go to a reputable wheel shop and talk to them

what about some wheel adapters????simple fix yeah?

i used to work for a wheel manufacturer.  and i've heard of situations like thism but like someone had said, it should only really be done on wheels with caps covering the holes.  the process was called "fill and drill."  its not recommended, because it does question the integrity of the wheel.  contact either a local wheel manufacturer and see if this is possible for you or try a wheel repair company.  your only other option would be to change the buyers hub to adapt to the mercedes fitment.  but just by looking at your wheels, i wouldnt do it, based on the fact that the shape of the holes are part of the wheels aesthetic design.  my $0.02, hope this helps.

Thats what was done for my Brabus rims to fit the Q. Originally they are sized to fit my wifes Benz. But mine have a slight cave in and i have 10mm spacers on it. They run fine but eat up my gas mileage. :shrug:

i think u should get the wheels adapters.. i think this way u wont mess up the way the wheels looks from outside at least!..

714-637-2889 FAT Performance...... they are NOT used to anything but Porsches, Toyotas, and VW's, they offer machining services that include redrilling your rotors and I believe wheels, check and see if it doesn't pan out I apologize but I got the tip from a friend that owns a Porsche.

We use something called "wobbly bolts" here in Europe, they have the German TUV stamp of approval.

The head is able to move around very slightly. 

Perfect for fitting 5x112 wheels to 5x114.3 or vice versa.

They are about £90 a set, we have used them to fit loads of Evo's/Scoobys with 5x112 BBS CH wheels, they run the cars on tracks and have never had any problems at all.

You can get adapters, 20mm thick I think.
