I want to put floaters on my SC Lexus

I'm totally excited about this. 
My car = Black Lexus SC430 ---- My Interior is White though

Here is my question. I'll go either 18" or 20", but will these wheels work with my car? I don't want any steering wheel shaking problems because I do alot of highway driving. Plus the whole point is to be floating on the highway with the top down, that would be awesome.

8.5 is the width of the wheel. 18s or 20s will fit depending on a lot of things like offset, tire size, and suspension setup.

sounds like someone else who has misinterpreted the term, "VIPSTYLE."

This is getting out of hand.

take a look around the site and picture galleries to grasp an understanding of what VIP Style truly is. Its pretty easy to confuse the DUB image and VIP because people (and companies ) think they're both the same. 
 
As for the rim: 8.5" is the width of the rim. If they are not hub-centric you can get rings for it for cheap. 
 
I would seriously take a look around here before purchasing that set of those 'DUB Style' rims for the SC.

hahah my thoughts was exactly the same. Thought to myself: "Floaters" oh it must be some type of air ride I never heard of.

wait until he explains exactly what he's trying to do before telling him he's on the wrong site. 
 
EVERYBODY was 'new' at one point...and no one is an exception to that fact.

I dont think we need to waite for any explanation..Floaters are straight DUB and not VIP ..no matter how you put it..
 
I was new at one point and I never wanted to add floaters to my car.

take the wrong course...as it seems like it is doing..a year ago you would have never seen this type of question..and why now, becuase folks are cherry coating everything.

Yeah when I saw Floaters I had to take a breath before I clicked in to see exactly where he was going with this and when I saw the wheels posted I almost choked...Please dont put those wheels on that nice car they will totally cheapen it imo look around the site for some SC430's and see what there rocking there are soooo many options out there think about this before you jump into the DUB scene.

Yes, there are standards that VIP should be held to...as well as moderators. 
 
If he's here [B]ASKING A QUESTION[/B] then he's trying to learn what he can do to his car and should get a straight answer...maybe a lil clownin...but give an answer. :P 
 
He may find out that VIP is the way to go with his ride or he just may find out that he'd prefer DUB style....atleast give him a chance to learn what VIP / VIP Style cars is about. 
 
Dont take the easy way out. If youre gonna help the scene, then educate people on the difference between VIP / VIP Styling and DUB. Playing that high horse card is the easy route. 
 
There are MANY publications that portray them as 'all the same'. Seriously, How would the average consumer know the difference? 
 
This is a recent publication that talks about the latest trends in the aftermarket world. The information is wrong and totally confuses retailers into thinking they are the same...which gets passed on to consumers and adds to the confusion.

Damn now I know what floaters are and it is truly a DUB style thing. Nothing VIP about it. Feel free to do a search on the forums for what is considered vipstyle for your SC430, but unfortunately those wheels aren't.

We are helping him..we are trying to stop a mistake from happening..some might not say it as nice as others but you have to admit that this just does not cut it in the VIP scene.
 
I am not on a high horse at all..I just dont cherry coat everything..If I feel a srtrong about a certain issue I will adress it in a straight forward manner as thats how I would want to be adressed. I am a mod however I dont think its my duty to pick and choose what newbies need more guidence than others..I suppose I just awsume when folks join the forum they all ready have a certain level of understanding of what VIP is about. I think some just try to bypass what VIP is and join anyways and think that they will change some of our ways..while others are actually here to learn..
 
I will be the first to admit that by know means am I the shizznit or do I know half of what there is to know. My car is a work in progress and I am still learning as I go along. I just read and research and try to immitate a style within my own style..sticking to the fundamentals of what is VIP..

was anyone else surprised how cheap they are price wise?
i was thinking $1780 for one 18" wheel until i read 'package w/tire'
its quite amazing how we all look into buying such expensive wheels
i really like this vip thing because its not a kids hobby anymore (-_^) d

also are these floater wheels supposed to be spinners that dont spin? is that how they work?

Sorry, I don't mean to mix up the DUB and VIP Styles. I actually got the link from clublexus.com. I'm just trying to determine if I should get some new wheels and risk that steering wheel shaking problem I had at my first attempt at buying rims. I just put my stock back on and dumped in the garbage thinking that they were defective cuz I bought them for 800 from some shady dealer near Shea Stadium. But now I want to spend around 2g's for some nice wheels. If I can get a clear answer as to how I can get a wheel of perfect fitment for my car I'll jump on it. Otherwise it looks like I'll just have to get my stocks chromed, or do that chrome exchange. 
 
I'm not here to make this car VIP, cuz I learned VIP is for 4 door cars anyway. Just looking for some bling to put on my thing.

You still may be on the wrong forum- but please steer clear of DUB wheels. From all that you have asked, you may be better to just stay stock.

I dont really care about the look, I just wanted it to look like im sliding.. hahahahh

Chroming the stocks will result in the smoothest ride and may be the best option for you, but you gotta ask yourself why you want to get chrome wheels. I'm guessing you want them to get attention, and to make your car stand out? In that case chroming the stocks wont exactly get you much street cred. In fact most people wont even notice
 
Floaters might get that attention you are after, but its also going to get alot of negative attention. Not to mention that it is likely to be a fad that will be considered extremely uncool in a yr or so. You dont want to spend 2-3k on wheels which will get laughed at next year.
 
Also, if you arent going to lower the car, 18s will be far too small. 20s will look better, but maybe 22s if you want to fill out those wheel arches with standard ride height. Personally i dont like cars with mags and no lowering, but i gotta admit large wheels tend to reduce the gap look
 
In my opinion, get some SIMPLE design 5 or 6 spoke wheel in 20"+. No curvy alien looking designs or spiky bits, just simple flattish spoke wheels with a bit of lip. You will get the attention from enough people and is something that wont go out of fashion quickly.  It wont be remotely VIP, but its a win-win situation

please for the love of god dont get those wheels, HOWEVER.. that vid was actually cool i will admit.. Im just amazed it took this long for someone to cook up the idea.  the concept is cool but the wheels are not imo.

They actually have been doing this for years now..Just add wieghts to the lower portion of the spinner and there you go...thats what all my homboyz did when they wanted that effect..at firtst we all thought he got cheap spinners but then he told us what he did..this was about 3 years ago..
