Car's Limits at 8.5" up Front; Think I could Squeeze a 9.5"?
Right now, my wheels are 19 * 8.5 and 19 * 9.5. I found some wheels I love, but they are 19 * 9.5 and 19 * 10. Do you think if I stretch a 225 on the 9.5, it could work well in this application (I have 225s right now on the 8.5)? I am not worried about the back at all. Seeing as how I have all that spare room up front (because of the fender pull), do you think I could squeeze the 9.5 up there and space it? My biggest concern is not what the car would look like laid out (I know it would look super flush), but how it would look when I am raised to my normal ride height. Do you think they might stick out too wide and look ridiculous based off the pic I gave? Thanks for any input.

I just measured, and there is well over 1" of gap between the outside edge of the wheel and the lip of the fender...therefore, if I can perfect the offset, all should be well, right?

depends what the offsets are..if you got an 8.5 u[ front with what about a +35-+40 offset I am guessing...if you had the same width in a -10 or more you would be poking out..so it really depends on the offsets..if those 19x9.5 are the same offset as you have now..then you should be pretty flush and look pretty sick..

They are a +45 and I am at a +40 right now. So maybe with a 5mm spacer, it should work?

They are a +45 and I am at a +40 right now. So maybe with a 5mm spacer, it should work?
YEah I am pretty sure it will work just think about the math..25cm = 1inch so by adding a 9.5+45 you are about 5mm away from an inch..you may not need a spacer at all depending on how you adjust your camber but if you do need one I would getimate about 7-10mm.

You've got an 8.5 +40 on there now? I've done 8.5 +28 before, and it's very aggressive
on the W202 or 203. 19x8.5 +28 would sit the same on the fender as 19x9.5 +40.
If anything, you'll need a spacer to get them to clear the front strut tube or coilover.

9.5" on the front of a second-gen GS... and 11.5" on the rear.

Uhm, I think your math is wrong. The difference between 8.5 +40 and 9.5 +45 is 8mm more out and 18mm less inside clearance. As long as you can clear the inside, 8mm outside is not gonna be a big deal if youre running the same stretch.

Uhm, I think your math is wrong. The difference between 8.5 +40 and 9.5 +45 is 8mm more out and 18mm less inside clearance. As long as you can clear the inside, 8mm outside is not gonna be a big deal if youre running the same stretch.

Actually 7.7mm outside and 17.7mm inside difference to be exact, but what nizzan said is correct.

2mm is hardly anything that couldn't be fixed with some fender massaging. 2mm = 0.078in so yah, it's barely anything. I would say it would be more cost effective for you.

Test fit the wheels...they will work! I need to have a 23mm spacer custom made, and then they're golden. I could get away with a 20, but then I would not able to do a full lock turn completely. I am just safer off with the 23. Surprisingly enough, they don't stick out that much. Pics to follow tomorrow.
