Yay curtains!

Yay. Finally got a full set from Style Auto Boutique!

Thanks Will.

Stuck on a couple of extra crystals from Bippu Garage too just for flair.

PS. I don't know if it's commonplace to heat and bend the plastic rail to match the top of the window trim, but it was an afterthought that the metal ones are designed with very soft metal in mind. They also come with a rubber insert to prevent the metal grooves from pinching when bending them.

I've come to the conclusion that the metal ones are probably for the top of the window where there is more curvature required. Its much much easier than heating up the plastic ones for the top of the window. I think your supposed to bend the metal ones to shape, stick it on, then remove the rubber insert to ensure the curtains flow smoothly.

I ended up pinching the plastic rails when heating them and now the curtains don't flow super smoothly where the bends are.

Anyways, just my $0.02

you got them reversed buddy. metal is on top and the plastic is on bottom. thats why the metal is bendable, not the plastic it says in the directions, but its in japanese if you can read it, its pretty much common sense. all of the manufacturers that make curtains come with that rubber thing in it. FYI

I think he was confused from that one "how to install curtains" writeup...I knew this would happen. That writeup needs to be more specific that if there's a metal rail, its to be used on top. I think several of us mentioned that but it wasn't changed.

it was changed out when lcrashl moved it to how to section..here is the change for reference:

Step 2 (SKIP THIS STEP if your set of curtains came with a metal rail for the top and/or bottom).
I used a heat gun to warm up the plastic rails so the bend at the top easier.

lol, then he probably didn't read it after it was changed. Hopefully nobody else read it BEFORE the change. Only thing is I did a search before I installed mine and most of the post mentioned the bendable metal. So it was kinda easy for me.

haha. live and learn right.

Still came out pretty decent though. I just sanded down the pinched area and now it moves smoothly again.

goes to 3/4. Does anyone know of curtains that go the full lenght on LS400s? I wouldn't mind upgrading to a set that covers all the way.
