Side Vents on a VIP car?

whats your guys thoughts on side vents on luxury VIP vehicles? 

how about these side fender vents from the 07 cadillac escalades.

i noticed more and more cars in the magazines have vents nowadays

If done well, it can look great.

Kind of unrelated, but tonight I saw a bone-stock, white, last gen Prelude with those super-played Z3 vents, but the install was so clean and professional looking, it looked factory, not stupid.

If you can get that same kind of balance of aftermarket, but factory (or better) quality, then just about anything with a lick of sense will look good.

I agree and have my own vent project going.  It's not what anyone would expect to use, but it's going to serve my purposes wonderfully!

I'm a fan for the custom fender treatment! But not a fan of those escalade ones!
The Junction Z3 styled fenders are really nice when done right!

i like vents too but like firelizard said, it must be pulled off properly...gotta have the right height, rims and most importantly, gotta have the right vents...

I like the buick fender vents. The oval shaped ones..those are sick!

You only just noticed? Its been insanely popular for at least 3 years now going by the mags i have; now its more like 90% of the magazine cars with fender vents.
 
But they can look tacky and overdone. I bought some Aussie Commodore ones for use in my Cima, they look pretty cool and have an indicator built in which is cool... 
 
But they dont fit the Cedric :-(

Yes. Those vents are nice and classy. But about the comment regarding the JP vents I'm not really a fan of.

Here in FL the donk scene is in and everybody and their mother are putting those on their car.

VIP mags right? I remember Import Tuners early days when I thought it was a cool mag, they had so many cars with vents in one of those issues. There was this yellow Prelude with vents and wings/spoilers everywhere on it.

Back to the topic, some look good if done right like the ones above^ but the rest of the car should not be over dramatic like the one Im talking about ( I wish I can find a pic ).

These vents are currently very hot among the minivans and k-cars too tho they r mainly used for cosmetics purposes only....

They look retarded and never look tasteful or clean IMO.

Hahaha, the roof scoop ahead of the sunroof is a "nice" touch.

It helps flow with the two spoilers behind the sunroof above the  wing that looks like its made of two spoilers... LOL

Is that the 240 fang kit on that,............... ummmm, car?

I thought like wow that things !DOPE! when I fist saw it but it can start getting to you after it stains your mind for a few years.

Ain't exactly hating but its just one of those things when even if its cool you have to just laugh sometimes. I might have said its a bit over dramatic but it wasn't in its time.

Well put. Couple of years back, that car was dope. Still looks clean to me now just not my style.

Back when I wanted a baby blue CRX with chrome 3-spokes, a Kombat bodykit, lambo doors, and a Terminator wing, I thought cars like that were cool.

cool vents with the turn signal integrated. And stay away from those ghetto a$$ Buick vents. Stoopid things are a plague in Chicago. SEen them on everything form the usual box Caddies to VW Golf's. Navigators to Cherokee's. Bleh!!

sorry, not a fan of them...what's the difference in those and the m3 vents that everyone has?  just the fact that its not m3 vents...

Agreed, all Donk and DUB cars he in FL have them. I think I even saw them at Autozone in the APC section:yahoo_24:. I hate seeing those things, plus why would anyone want vents from a BUICK of all cars. :eek4wtf:

Those Buick ones are nasty. I saw this pic of a LIncoln LS with those damn things and it made me wanna ralph all over my keyboard. It was DUB and it had those damn stupid doors on it to.

I'm not feelin them fender vents.to me its a bit ricey and if it wasn't on the car originally,it just doesn't look right.sorry

Thats one way to think of it.  After looking at your ride every single day, you get bored with its apperance.  Id say, stay away from SL, Z3, escalade and buick  fender ducts.  Some of them can be classy and work really well.  I have actually been looking into this for months now.  I feel the Aero should influence which vents I will go with, not vice versa thats why im holding off on this.

Yea...like I've said u can leave these stuff to the last....mine's just a stick on. If I'm bored with it I can just take them off...no fuss hehe

BRAINCADENA has a really good line-up when it comes to fenders!

The generic, one-size fits all fender vents... not so much.

Custom all-metal vents... good!

Not VIP, but all custom, and all metal...

I'm not a big fan of vents on any car...

I actually own a pair of Junction produce fenders heres an attached picture ... the vents are useless other than the look but +10 mil wider ... will post up photos on the car in the near future
