Took these at Motegi Circuit the other week. OK I know I probably shouldn't be posting photos of Camaros on this forum, but nice wheels. Have to say it looks pretty clean.

I actually think the camaro looks good. Isn't it amazing how the Japanese can make that car look so nice, when its just about impossible for the guys here to do it! lol:pat:

Yeah I'd have to agree with you on that. I've never been that into them, but the ones you see over here are often pretty nice. Caught my attention more often than they have in other parts of the world.
I haven't looked into it that much but there also seems to be quite a few after market parts makers designing and selling body kits etc for them in Japan. The American car mags in Japan are full of parts and accessories for them.
Anyway, just thought I'd post something different because the Japanese approach to styling various cars can often be quite interesting.
I noticed people talking about the Trailblazer SS in another thread. Quite a few of those popping up in Tokyo now. Mostly the Trailblazer LTZs tho. (As that's what GM officially sells here.) Typically all black. Seen some which are lowered and styled really well. Making them look pretty damn good. Much better than you'd imagine they could look.

some of you guys worship the Japanese to much..that camarro has nothing special to it..looks like all the rest of them that I see around town..what some nice wheels and a lip kit and done in Japan makes it better? Its just a cammaro..I no plenty of better looking camaros that come straight from the states..You cant touch the US when it comes to muscle cars..not even Japanes folks can. I just think a lot of folks will except more ugly looking cars just cause they are from Japan..even the Japanese have car farts..

Haha... Just appreciating some of the non JDM cars in Japan too. There are plenty of automotive atrocities here as well. Some absolute shockers. And there are plenty of nice cars all over the world.
The main point of interest was the choice of Riverside wheels. It's not a pissing contest about who's the best. Far from it. Just saying that there are some clean US cars here, even if they haven't had that much done to them. Sometimes subtle and understated can be a good approach too.
Saying you can't touch the US when it comes to muscle cars is provoking a pointless argument I don't want to engage in.
Only because I'd agree with you

My point is not directed at you but at the fact that If someone posted that same exact car and it was in the US..no one would care.. but because its "JDM" cammarro than all of a sudden its so much better..
No argument just stating a fact..

hehe, I'm more interested by the Challenger. Wheels definitely have Japanese inspiration...over here muscle cars usually have serious sunken wheels, even when they're deep - it's just the way they were made

This is all opinion, but you didn't post one F-Body that looked as complete, unique, or clean as the one in Japan... The orange one is hideous in my opinion, the other two F-Bodies have wheels that are so ugly and plain to me.

I think it's irrelevant where the cars are from. It's the choices the people styling the car make. They could be in America or Japan. It really doesn't matter. Good and bad choices are made by people everywhere. A lot of it is personal taste too. What you like or think. Not what everyone else does.
After taking another look at the Camaros currently for sale in Japan, I have to agree the fitment and choice of wheels on the black one is what makes it.
FWIW, It looks a lot better than many of the others here too for that matter. (There are many in Japan that are way too over the top for my tastes.)
The black one only has a few minor styling changes, but sometimes it's not "how much" but more the thought and care that's put into achieving a good look.
Sometimes you don't need to change that much to do it.
(BTW, it looks lowered to me. Even many of the Camaros in Japan have huge gaps between the wheel and fender. Esp on the rear.)
Here's another one with some nice wheels. (Didn't take these pics. Just found them on a Japanese website.)
What interests me is how some cars you wouldn't normally be interested in can be made to look good with careful changes and choices. Quite surprised I ended up creating a thread about Camaros on a VIP forum. LOL! But hey, it's all about having an open mind and keeping things interesting.

I agree with that. Come on, honestly if you were to remove that JDM plate and compare cars, most people would take the one that was originally posted because the fitment is nice and that makes or breaks a car especially on this forum. Its not about being JDM.

I think that camaro would also look cleaner with some nice camber up front and back with a wider offset wheels to bring out that sports car / muscle car thang..then yeah I would agree..but for me right now its just a camaro with traficstars..I really cant believe some of the post on this thread from some of the folks that have posted..Stance and fitment is everything right...So why not have this car slammed on nice aggressive wheels to bring out the True JDM theory??THis car could easily push 12 or 13 in the rear with some crzzy - offset...but its very conservative looking right now.

I'm surprised this is still an issue.
I know you said below your comments weren't directed at me. So I've got no beef. But here's what I think.
I agree with what you say. Yup it's just a Camaro with Trafficstars.
But I'm not surprised some people might like it just because it's JDM. This is a forum dedicated to car culture which began in Japan. "So what." I don't think it's an issue worth wasting time on.
My reason for posting the pics was because I like those Riverside wheels. And it was the first time to see them on a Camaro. Thought it looked good even tho it's a very mild custom.
Yeah you could really go to town and make a much more extremely styled car to bring out the muscle look as you say. That would be cool. Maybe someone will see this and do it ; )
Would be nice to see it slammed with a deeper rim too.
There's a whole sea of Japanese Aero parts for Camaros here:

But bit too much for me. I'll take the black one over these.
