Vip enthusiast, without a genuine bippu

hey all,

I've been on this site for a few months, and the vip scene as really grown on me.

However, I've inherited an Acura 3.5RL. Certainly not Vip material. But I think honda needs to make a name in vip.
IMO RL's look alot like LS's... So you guys think I'd be playing "poser"?

Anyways, Thanks for being a great community.

UUUmmm not...well I guess you could but you will be limited to cetain types of wheels cause its a front wheel drive car...When you are doing an non platform VIP style car it is important to have your wheels as deep as possible..IF you have a platform than its not as a neccessity..so That is something you might want to think about. Plus there is not alot of VIP parts for an RL...I dont understand why folks feel its important for a certain car name to make a name in VIP...if thats the case why not take an elantra and have it make a name of a kia etc...You want to be VIP then start off with a more suitable platform. I just dont think Honda = VIP I think honda = tuner..but do what you want its your car...just if you do try to get as wide wheels as you can possibly fit and get air so you can slam it to the ground..

Thanks for all the comments. FF is definitely holding me back. But, Acura is heading for a more luxurious line ever since they dropped the RSX. And despite the integra, Acura was always a luxury line.

Welcome!

You don't necessarily need deep wheels to be VIP. Its all about the stance and fitment! A little mode parfume or aimgain kit in the mix and you will have one nice ride. Check out some of the cars in the other vehicles section there are a few people doing the RL

dont need deep wheels to be VIP but when you are working with a non platform car it really helps to have deep lips as I said above..VIP platform cars can get away with alot more wheel styles because they all ready are VIP platforms..

here is a link to aimgain's RL kit. I would put that right up there with many true "vip" cars. Don't lose hope man, just slam the car to the ground and put on some nice wheels. While I generally agree with Zion about the deep dish wheels making a VIP ride, that is not always the case. Many of the VIP mags these days are featuring the full face look. I would say the most important thing to bare in mind is stance, stance, stance. Find some wheels that you like and make them as flush as possible, offsets will be a make or break factor. Make the wheels kiss the fenders and put the car as low to the ground as possible. At that point the only thing it will be called it is hot (vip or otherwise, who really cares).

Cheers,
Jake

not give the rl a second look, but scion get mad respect around here. then forget vip...... id rather work with something not usually done over a whip everybody has anyway. you guys do realize if vip grows here in the states that there are only few of these platforms. with mild kits, basic colors and the same wheels over and over. how long do you think this style will last before it gets played out. as long as they are tastefull about it. i think the ones who are willing to try something different will help this trend evolve

Van - Wagons - Box's have their own magazines...... So we made room for them on here. It didnt start off like that for the 1st 1-2 yrs on here.

Then you have the Sedans I dont see many Honda's on there. Its your car do what you want but when you get BUTT HURT cause you didnt get the at-a-boys from those who did it the right way.

YOUR RIGHT thinking this is VIPstylecars........ SO DO IT and if you ever go to the VIP meet in LA and you car isnt in the magazine like others before you DIDNT then what Start Over or Run??

Might as well do it right the 1st time these Mods are expensive to be playing with a wanna to be VIP. Call it what you want not in my books !!

All the arguments most everyone here are posing are truly deep ones that have been covered before and are yet in discussion since most everyone in the states has no true platform vehicle as far as i'm concerned, but anyways this is all something that can be discussed with this member in other threads or pm's in my belief since this is an "Introduction" thread and not a "Let's bash on the new guy" thread. Little harsh to be doing to a guy introducing himself guys, you have valid points just make them later, not now, not here. Welcome and some pics would be appreciated gene_RL!!!
