Y33 coilover availability?

I had recently ordered some JIC FLT-A2 VIP coilovers for my Y33 and I was told they were in stock and I should have them within a couple weeks. Well, I just got a call saying it might not be until late October in which I would recieve them. 

My question for everyone including the vendors/distributors, does anyone KNOW where I can get Y33 coilovers new, that are in-stock and ready to be shipped out? At this point I'm not being picky as to what company IE: JIC, Aimgain, K-Break, Insurance, Fabulous etc.

If someone knows let me know, I hate this waiting game.

I purchased them through Horsepowerfreaks.com, which really had a great price going on them. However, no matter who I am to order them through, they're still all distributors for JIC who currently has zero in stock at this point in time. Sucks for me because no matter what, I'll have to wait :(.

They never have them in stock brand new. You have to remove your front spindels and sent them to JIC, then they ship them to Japan and have the spindles cut and welded to JIC stuts and ship them back to the US..Thats what PETE from JIC told me. The only company I have heard that may or may not have them ready to ship is algernon I believe but not %100..thats why most folks buy used so they dont have to be without a car for that long...thats what I did.

I hope that wasn't this Pete... well I'm not from JIC so that's all good. =)

Here's what happens. You order through JIC MAGIC (authorized dealers). You'll get charged a +$500 core charge for your spindles. Then, the authorized dealers send the order to JIC USA. Then (if its not in stock) JIC USA sends the order to JIC Japan. JIC Japan gets a set of spindles and makes the set for you. 

After completion, it is shipped on the next interval container (barring their product shipments). From there if you don't want to keep you front suspension, you simply send them to JIC USA (usually deal through your sales rep from the authorized dealer) and you'll get refunded back the $500 core charge.

JIC charges you that core charge because JIC Japan has to purchase the spindle in order to make your coilovers.

IT's up to you if you want to keep your front spindles or not. My experience has told me you'd want to keep you stock suspension and just bite the $500 core charge and take it as a lost. But that's your decision to decide.

Hope that clears everything up. Shipping stuff from Japan isn't easy. Companies need to fill a container of products for it to be cost effective   for them. It's business and YES the coils are worth the wait.

Its not difficult for them to get a set. It just has a cost to get a set and manufacture the part. I'm assuming they don't usually have sets in stock for the Y33. JIC suspension is typically aimed to the Drift and Performance Suspension market therefore they most likely have those (McPhearson type) readily available. Spindle type designs are probably made to order per order. Although I am not quite sure, that just make sense for a performance orientated suspension company.

Algernon, Aimgain, Wald and Insurance also offers coilovers and since they deal with a VIP market, they will be more inclined to carry spindle type applications and have those readily available. Those are great alternatives for choosing coilover suspension as well.

About being made in Japan. I'm not sure what's made in Japan and what's not (pertaining to JIC) but I am sure it doesn't really matter where it's made with a company like JIC. A company like JIC Magic does not sacrifice quality. Therefore their products meet all road condition guidelines and strictly enforce their guidlines when delivering an end product to the consumer. If not, they wouldn't put products through grueling track runs via drift cars, time attack, circuit, etc. 

I don't believe the negative hype on forums. I have years of experience running JIC products and I don't see anything wrong with JIC quality. Some of our cars (Vertex USA) have had JIC suspension for 5 years plus and they are still going strong. Even our parent company Car Make T&E Japan also runs JIC suspension on their cars as well as HKS.

I can't vouche for everyone's experience however. I can only vouche for my own.  But again, I don't see anything wrong with JIC products. All the negativity surrounding JIC was started by one guy and their problem with JIC wasn't due to JIC quality.

Well, here's the thing. I already ate the 500 dollars for the core charge anyways just so I could keep driving my Q daily(also in hopes of getting the coilovers quicker). BUT, to hear that I now have to wait even longer because they really don't have them in stock and ready to ship out how I was told irks me just a little bit. Yes, I may be a little impatient, and yes it's probably worth the wait, but I didn't purchase them now to get them 2-3 months later.. 

So my dilemma still stands; who, if anyone, might already have pre-fabbed Y33 coilovers in stock ready to ship out? I'm not trying to wait if I don't have to.

YOu will have to wiate either way..YOur going to have to learn patience in this game. Parts take a long tike to get hear and the heavier it is the longer it will take. Nobody stocks Y33 Coilovers in the states period.

Your best bet finding a set would be on here or on NICO. Just keep searching around or post on the want to buy section. Maybe you'll find someone selling a set of coilovers who is upgrading to air or going back to stock.

These things take time however. I waited a few months before I got my set made and shipped over. 

Also, are you certain the shop you purchased the set is an authorized JIC dealer? You might want to call JIC Magic USA just in case to see and to verify their next shipment.

what do u mean you ate the 500 dollars deposit ? u saying they won't give u backthe 500 dollar deposit ?

anyhow, I wasn't planning on selling my coilovers but if u must have it fast, I can sell u my algernon set for y33.  It is 2 way fully adjustable full tap, 15 way damper control. 

I wasn't planning on selling them but the airrunner group buy is giving me the shivers.

They'll give me back my 500 dollar deposit, not a problem. I'm just saying that I had already paid the 500 dollars for the core charge instead of mailing in my cores first just to get the ball rolling.

mebippu- The megans are straight, I only got them temporarily because I was so sick of riding at stock height.. basically until I could get enough cash for coilovers.
