R.I.P. G35 ....... you will be missed

I have no words right now to explain what I'm going through but all I can say is it was a drunk driver with no license and no insurance, hit my parked car and kept going, if it wasn't for the whole neighborhood being outside and witnessing it he may have gotten away. But my neighbor followed him and brought him back right when the 1 time showed up.... and yes those were my new to me wheels i had just bought....this is so t3h gh3y :eek4greddy:

Goddamn that sucks! I saw the first few pics and thought "doesnt look so bad" then bam! i saw the rear wheel... Why is the front passenger side wheel sticking out?

Surely your insurance company can sort it all out though? In australia it doesnt matter if they dont have insurance, your company will cover it...

Oh damn...ouch. At least they snagged the dude. That's super eff'd. I hope your insurance or court or something can do something about it. I always get that coverage...the no or under insured driver crap...just for that reason. But we have the weird no-fault insurance garbage which makes it even more odd.

It's sad to see that one of the nicest G35s I've seen is down for the count. Do you think it can be fixed? If not, your going with an F50 right?

shoot man

if it were me, man i would've let loose on his ass then asked questions. pancakes can vouch for that. :signdammit: But like everyone else is saying, it sucks and all but you gonna get a new one and rims are rims just like cars are cars. it couldve been worst and someone really couldve gotten hurt. The car look like it aint totaled and the rear suspension needs work and just a few scratches and front fender. Just let us know as time goes along.

Don't you have full coverage? Like comprehensive coverage? Everything should be covered if you have receipts for the wheels and suspension. You should only have to pay your deductible. If you don't and you have UMPD....well...I don't think $3500 is going to cover that....

thanks everybody for the words of encouragement and the sympathies. So here's the lowdown after taking the car to a shop and really getting a closer look at the damage.

The car was hit in the quarter panel/bumper/rear wheel. This caused a chain reaction, that had more to do with the wheel being pushed.

1. The quarter panel and rear bumper were damaged and shifted causing the trunk to not really warp but to shift as well and be misaligned in gapping and mounting (holes are stretched where it mounts).

2. When the rear wheel was pushed (breaking the axle and ripping...yes ripping... the lower control arm and mount from the frame) the quarter panel and the rear door were pushed forward.

3. This caused the front door to push forward.

4. This caused the driver side fender to push forward and upward a bit.

5. This in turn had the effect of pushing the driverside headlight and the front bumper and ruining the gapping and placement of thesefrom the original mounting holes since they are now stretched too.

6. It also had the nasty effect of pushing the hood over towards the right.

7. This caused the passenger side fender to follow suit with the rest of the body of the car and get misaligned and warping the mounting holes

8. The Airbags on the driver side are either damaged or just not lifting properly due to warped parts.

9. The rear driver side wheel is damaged.

10. My transmission may need to be replaced due to the fact that my car was parked and slammed forward.

Because of the damage to the subframe/frame and all the damage to the body (including the warpage of the mounting holes) the shop has deemed it, and will submit to my insurance, that it is a total loss. It would literally cost more to fix the car to it's original form than to total it and everyone cut their losses. The worst part is, to reiterate, THE GUY HAD NO INSURANCE AND NO LICENSE AND WAS NOT THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE TO BOOT!!!! He had no photo ID and was arrested, but let go in the morning, since he did come back with my neighbor it showed a willingness to claim responsibility so no charges for felony hit and run can be filed by the police. On top of that they cannot charge him with DUI since the police officer said he wasn't caught in possesion of the vehicle and came back riding in my neighbor's car. This means he can always say in court that he drank when he got home since he was nervous and wanted to come back and that's when my neighbor showed up and took him. He would be let go with the case dismissed.

I have full coverage including Uninsured Motorist coverage. My deductible is $250 and the insurance will not be covering my wheels or suspension since they are aftermarket parts and couldn't be added to the policy since the cost of both exceeded their limit for aftermarket accessories of $1000.

To those of you who may be wondering what the reason was for me not going to the SD meet was, well I had just received the wheels from HoeBag (thanks man) and my mufflers from Robert (thanks to you too) and was ready to take it to get the fenders worked to make the car fit the wheels and have my dream of wheel edge kissing fenders, and dual exhaust. Plus I had bought some replacement OEM seats that were all power and rear headrests so I could redo my entire interior to have it flow better with the black and ivory theme. These are all dreams that are lost in time now and will never come to be. the wheel is repairable since the face and the rear section of the barrel are undamaged and well the air suspension is bolt on and salvagable too, so the air suspension will be replaced to complete working condition and sold. My entire audio/video system has been removed as well as all my Garson/D.A.D accessories.

So what will I come back with next you may ask? .....TO BE CONTINUED, because I will come back ...... :fo_shizzle:

Damn, thats a shocking chain of events from just being hit in the rear, but obviously he hit pretty hard...

Good to hear you are keeping upbeat about it though. Damn thats bad news...

So if you are keeping all the parts, does this mean you are coming back with another G35?

Yeah actually my street is known as a residential main street since it is wide enough for two way traffic and this gives people the incentive to go over the speed limit of 25mph and usual speed here is 45+, we've seen people doing about 75+ here.

On the question of the coming back with a G35....The future doesn't hold a G35 in it for me, I can't see myself trying to replace it with another it would hurt to much.

we have 8 cars in the household and the order of time leaving in the morning dictates that i leave the earliest so my vehicle needs to be ableto get out first, which means that of the 3 cars that must be parked outside the G35 (my daily driver by the way) is one of them.

Did the owner of the car have insurance? You should go after them. I think they are responsible, because they willingly let an unlicensed driver drive the car. If they have insurance, their insurance should cover it. Even if it is a total loss, you may be able to get the aftermarket parts covered.

Man, that blows. All the time and effort you put into that ride. It was definately one sick ride. I would sue that guy and take everything he had (home, cars, etc..). Anyway good luck on your search for a new ride. Also scavange as much as you can from the ride and (ebay) sell parts, keep the vip parts for your next ride.

your first post and this is what you bring to the table? talk about kicking a man when he is down, and fyi, the hit wasn't from the side, it was from behind on the side, where he connected with the 11" wide wheel and pushed it forward. study the pics a bit more and you might see that there is no basis to your claim...... besides not once has anyone here heard talk from me about being one of those wannabe dOrIfTeRz.... sorry wrong guy... :pat: i'm SikNLow not SikNSidewayz

I usually don't like to do this, but do you have any idea where you are....VSC is not about drifting, if you think we mod our cars and then go out and act stupid with wheels and tires that cost more than the average 240 with an SR swap and some wack knock off kit you don't understand. if you have spent any time Just observing him here on the forum and seeing the quality of the parts and his approach to styling the car you would understand that he's not the guy to mod his car, go drift and tear it up and then lie about it publicly. The man told you what happened to his car. Don't offer opinions about what you think happened. This car was probably the nicest alternative platforms for VIP Styling on this forum.

sick sorry for your loss.....Keep us posted on the new project.

Thanks guys, I have a feeling I might be getting a lawyer real soon on this deal guys.... It seems that it is now acceptable policy for my insurance adjuster to go and post my business on the web and stating it is due to drifting and not because of what the police report says regardless of witnesses that saw the accident and the police report that was filled out.... now i'm no lawyer but can somebody say LIBEL LAWSUIT???? check out his post which is now saved and hardcopy printed to ensure this is handled properly if it goes to court....

A lot of ignorance on that forum. I like how they bring up offset sizing haha. Theres no way the wheel could get pushed that way unless you were drifting backwards. The wheel wouldnt have gotten bent that way either unless you fell on to the curb. File a lawsuit, the adjuster positng on a forum asking advice from people who dont know what theyre talking is just stupid.

Wow. If he wants to play that way, then maybe you need to see about getting him fired. I dunno what it would take--but it might be worth it. I guess since he work for your insurance co., it can't be too tough to track down his boss. I doubt too many insurance companies would support that kind of breach of privacy.

What an idiot--thinking that no one would find this.

You're lucky you have witnesses.

yeah that's what i was thinking, if it weren't for witnesses this seems like it would be a really bad situation. luckily one of the witnesses was also a victim of the same guy that night but since he only had minor damamges and no uninsured motorist coverage he settled on the side with the guy but the cops made a note of it. so if this goes tocourt then i can have the police officers subpoenaed as witnesses of that specific event. i figure that me posting it on this forum will be brought up, but there is a big difference bewteen me posting it and the company in charge of my claim breaching my privacy by assuming they can not only post it, but also make the false charge that it was during an illegal act that this occured, when there is a police report to verify my story.

Wow sorry to hear about that. Im in a similiar situation and have been in this situation a few times. Sucks really bad not having a car and having everyone stop and look at your car and ask wtf happened. Especially when you have to wait a while to get the JDM parts. Im sure you will get your next ride looking as good.
P.s. that whole insurance thing is scaring me. Im thinking about putting my stock wheels back on until after they give me an estimate.

FYI, I saw these same pics over at My350Z.com where some insurance agent was inquiring as to whether or not you were putting together a BS story so you could collect as he believed the accident was your fault.

I really hope you nailed his ass and got him pimp slapped by his superior for posting pics of your accident on a message board. Apparently the agent's name is Richie.
