95 LS400 Chrome Pillars
I Was Wondering Anyone Out There With Maybe A 95 - 97 LS400. Have Notice That Stock The Pillars Are Black. But After Awhile The Color Starts To Fade And Break. On Mine I Notice Chrome Behind The Black Paint. Has Anyone Try To Strip Off The Black Paint And Made The LS400 Have Chrome Pillars. If So Is There Any Other Procedures Needed To Make Sure The Pillars Dont Rust. By Pillars Im Talkin About The Black Part On The Door Where It Creates A Gap Between The Two Windows.

Its not chrome behind that. It wouldnt make sense to put something like that over a chrome surface.

Haha I Was Just Curious. Because I Was Talkin To One Of My Lexus Mechanics And He Was Tellin Me How Behind A Few Of The GS Model Grills There Is Chrome Behind It Or Some Metal Shiny Surface. So I Was Wondering If It Would Be The Same With The Pillars. mista808 Do You Happen To Have An Pictures Of What Happen When You Pealed Off The Paint.

you can get chrome pillar overlays... I'm sure some company makes them. I know they make them for the GS

If it's like the ucf10 it's a brushed aluminum (or something) underneath, if you polish it, ALOT, it can turn out a bit better. It just won't be AS shiny as the rest of the chrome trim.

why not just take measurements & custom fab up some chrome pillars from the OEM specs....
Most likely ALOY cheaper!!!

I just did mine a month or so ago on my 1991 LS 400 and honestly, it's not scuffed up at all, I just can't get the damn adhesive residue off of them. Now it's like half chrome, half residue.
I've tried so many different products to try and get the residue off and now I'm about to give up and try to get some aftermarket chrome pillars. Is it worth it? And who makes them for the UCF10/11? I can't find them anywhere!
