Same rules apply to buying any car:
- Buy the lowest mileage car u can afford
- Pay for an inspection. It will be the best 75bucks u can spend....even if u dont buy the car.
- Dont rely on other people to spend your money
With that said:
-They are very reliable cars, even with higher miles
- typical problems are cosmetic. Interior wear, door panel cracks, dash lights burning out.
I like them and have owned more than a couple SC's :)

to speak from experience. I bought my 92 sc400 with 225k miles on it. It's a daily driver and I've driven it on long trips. Still runs like a champ. No problems at all with drivetrain knock on wood. And only problems that came up were the amp blew (b/cuz i always blasted the radio) And the drivers side window wont roll up (fixed for $115).
Only reason i bought it was b/cuz it was a 1 owner and he had all the original paperwork and all the service papers from 92. So with my paticular car it was well maintained and runs very well for so many miles. My 02 cents.
