XStatic BatCap???

anyone heard of or use these?  I went overboard with my stereo and I need sum serious help supporting the amps.

HO alternator is the way to go

Just get a capaciter and you should be fine maybe two.

If i had to choose between a batcap and cap I would go with the batcap....when u run multiple capacitor setups.....the discharge time is slower.....so u will still get dimming.....High Output alternator is the way to go.

before u go and drop serious change on a new alternator, u should consider upgrading the wiring under the hood to a thicker guage.  commonly called the "big 3", it consists of upgrading the ground from the battery to the chassis, the ground from engine block to the chassis, and the power wire from the battery to the alternator.  get yourself a bigger better battery (the biggest one that will fit).  optima's are a popular choice, stinger makes some great ones, along with hawker oddysey batterys.  i usually just stick with the largest starting battery i can get from either interstate or diehard. 

if doing this doesnt fix your problem, consider a batcap as a bandaid, but the larger alternator will be the best solution.

which amps?  what guage wire are u running to them?

2 coming off the (+) battery and then split in the trunk with a dist block.

wow...too able to get full power out of those amps you would need over 550 amps...and you still have your compressors to add lol......realistically off of a stock 100-110 amp alternator...you would only be able to push 1200-1400 watts rms.....regardless what amp u use.......

Do the big 3, but I don't think it'll make that much of a difference in your situation.  If I were you I'd look into either a High Output alternator.  [url]www.ohiogen.com[/url] or Iraggi could probably get you going.  You can also check your local alternator rebuild shops to see how much they will re-wind your factory alternator.

In my experience Ohio Generators normally builds plug and play alternators while Iraggi will use a GM-style alternator and have the housing modified to fit your vehicle.  They aren't plug and play, but Dominick @ Iraggi should be able to tell you what wires go to what.  

Another option would be using some of the smaller Kinetik batteries [URL="www.kinetikaudio.com"](www.kinetikaudio.com)[/URL] I've used four of the HC600 in my 1994 honda accord because I had no room.  I hid all 4 of them in the fenders of the car after getting inspiration from a friend of mine and what he did with one of his customer's rides. (Click on the pictures for a link to the SUV).

Now my shit was ghetto rigged because I have very little metal fabrication skills, but you get the idea.  What I did was piece together some metal I had laying around with JB Weld to create small brackets that I could use in the fenders.  The HC600 was small enough to where I could get them inside with no problems (2 on each side).  Odyssey batteries [URL="http://www.odysseybatteries.com/"](www.odysseybatteries.com)[/URL] makes some really small ones too.  They make the batteries for Stinger, and Scosche so you might be able to find some local deals on them.

Lastly what size wire are you using?

To my surprise BATCAP emailed me back in regards to my 'situation'. They suggested their model 800's or multiple #400's I guess I'll mock up a couple out of cardboard and see where I can fit em. :biggthumpup:

i didnt realize u were trying to run that much power.  even the big 3+ bigger battery most likely wont help.  youre either gonna need dedicated batterys for the setup (batcaps or smaller batterys) or the best route would be the higher output alternator, but those tend to be hit or miss.  ive heard alot of horror stories about these HO alts and the various companies.

Same here...but they always say bad news travels faster than good news.  I currently run 3 alternators in 2 vehicles...(an Iraggi unit in my Tacoma, and a pair of Ohio Generators in my 89 GMC).  No problems from either one, and there are plenty that I know of who run MUCH bigger setups with zero problems.  For those that do have problems we'll never know the entire truth.  I feel like I'm talking about an episode of X-Files or something so I'll stop :pat:
