Greddy PolyU is weak!

daym.  I just cracked my 3rd daym Greddy lip.  I chose PolyU because of there strenght but cmon cracking 3xs! I was going to a steep drive way to go to the post office sideways as always (i drive real low)  I heard a sreetch then I heard a crack...then i looked out and saw my greddy lip shattered in a billion pieces!  fouck!  Piss me off.  I know I should have lifted the front but i didnt expect the greddy lip to shatter like that so easily.  Now im rolling with a stock bumper with sideskirts and rear bumper. lol. wtf.  I need a front kit.  Any one has any I can pick up...cause my car looks like shit right now.

well if  you had a honda or something like that it would last longer. lol. They never tend to be as strong as the origonal product. Meaning when they started out they were doing hondas, g35 coupes, 350z's and then there is one application for yours. The product for those is very strong but their new stuff with small orders aren't. Dawg, yo car look sick even with the front being stock. Just keep it clean and avoid the haters at all costs. nah, i hate the stock look of the front bumper man...makes me vomit. Cant stand stock.  I like the Y33 stock but not the GS.  I just ordered my 4th one. lol.  Im gonna customize this one.  Mold it to my whole bumper so itll look flush just like V8_Aristo from CL.  daym....sometimes when you get that perfect ride height you dont want to mess with it.  lol I learned and dumb lesson.

OE cars don't come with PU bumpers, they come with a blend of usually Polypropylene and something else. It will actually be stamped on your OE bumper, might be a PP<PE type symbol.

There are a variety of ways you can blend Poly Urethane for use in bumpers, however it's not a perfect solution for protection against damage. It's ironic, but the problem with PU is it's flexibility.

PU is not stiff, therefore when making a large part, like a bumper, it can flex, warp or sag over time. To counter-act this, manufacturers use less material and a different blend of chemicals to make it more stiff. However the downside of a stiffy is, it becomes more easy to break. 

Also for time wise, all Poly Urethane parts will change. This is caused by weather conditions, cold weather makes it brittle, hot weather makes it sag. 

So why is Poly Urethane used in aftermarket bumpers? Because it's cheap to make. The equipment to inject in the material is around $100k, you can get away with a fiberglass mold and the actual production of the part is fast (injection molding) and another plus is people are willing to pay more than fiberglass.

Greddy lips arent necessarily weak.  I would just say they are rigid, and will tend to crack, especially if you attached it super-tight to the bumper.  You need to have a little bit of flex in your kits, especially if you plan to drive unto driveways and stuff.  Thats the major reason why plastic bolts (and sometimes zipties) are used.  Those fasteners will break first before your front lip/kit.

Greddy lips aren't poly.  I believe they are just urethane.  PolyU is found on wings west kits.  You def don't want that heavy shit on your car.
