I increased my camber and now my car looks lower
I went from 2.0 to 3.0 negative camber.
and now it appears to be lower , I did not adjust my coilovers at all. It's closer to tsuraichi and the gap between the fender and wheel lip have now gotten closer.
is this just a visual effect of increased camber?

i think it would as ur wheels camber inside the wheels well.. leading the body to go down lower...

I think I am pretty sure as to why I am sitting lower than expected..here is my theory.
When at a certain hieght and front tires or rear tires have no camber everything is fine.
When you add camber the wheel cuts in pushing the suspension down. When you add a spacer you push down the suspension even more because the now the hub is extended do to the spacers, thus pushing down the car. That can only explain how I keep droping lower and lower with the adjustment I am doing..here is a diagram:
now just take out the fact of the spacers..

i think, its pretty much the same. as you tilt the tire (negative camber) the top, outer (portion closest to the fender) tilts upward closer to the fender, the lower inner (portion touching the ground tilts downward. added weight now not distributed across the entire contact patch of the tire, now sits on the inner portion of the tire keeps the car at the same ride height. imo....

Its very possibel that your car is "actually" higher by a quarter of an inch +/- or so. But it will most definitely appear to be lower if you just look at the fender/tire gap... The reason I say it may be higher is because as you increase your camper the wheel/tire is actually taller from corner to corner. Its probably not enough to notice. But the difference in tire/ fender gap is surely enough to notice.

germanfoks your right, this was also my suspicion all along.
it brought the outside lip up closer to the fender, the overall height has also been raised a bit because the total vertical distance has been increased.

If I was not slammed on coilovers in the front I would not notice..IF I had no front camber adjustments I would never have known this..If I was on springs and just could adjust the rear camber than most likely I would not be able to tell..but Benji has customized springs and he is low enough in the rear to see what I am saying and he scapes now places he did not before..now he is on springs in front and not low enough in the front yet to see how maxing out your front camber will lower your car more..may not much when your riding high but when your rideing low .5 inches matter if you scrape or not..then you know what I mean..

mm can turn into inches when you have heavy - camber^^^^
think about it like this..your whole car is on the wieght of the corner of the tire vs the tread of the tire..the inner part of your wheel will be closer to the road as well..another thing to think about.

messing with camber +- will or may affect height my mm's, NOT inches. This is assuming nothing else has been changed.

Having gone through this in another thread (another forum) with Zion, i think the answer is yes... it will lower the car, but only around 1/2" or so for 3 degrees. This is based on the pivot point of your front suspension (which is not correct in Zion's pic), but also because you are now putting more weight on one side of the tyre, which will now compress slightly more than if you were spreading the load evenly.
This can be seen if you take an oldschool matchbox car and stand on it. The car will lower itself by bending the axles and getting cambered

I am not familiar with what exactly what parts are called. The diagram is more about seeing how the suspension works and placemnet of your tires,,when I was trying to figure out why this same thing happen to me is when I made this diagram..and when I added the 25mm spacer it even pushed me lower...so I tried to figure that out and came up with this.. but I do know that either way you look at it more - camber = lower......camber plus spacers will even add more because now your hub is angled more guess you guys have to actually look at what happens to totally understand..once again it will not really effect your daily drivein unless your low enough where mm make a difference.:coolugh:

My rear bumper is now scraping everywhere now that my rear fenders are halfway down the outer sidewalls when they previously were at the top of the tread. For having springs, I thought it was cool to add camber to close the wheel/fender gap because I previously wanted to get coilovers to do so.
