255/35 unbeaded from my 10.5 - air it back up or replace?

I'm running goodyear eagle hp ultra plus 255/35/20 stretched on a 10.5 I only had them on for 2 days and it unbeaded yesterday.

My first questions is am i suppose to under or over inflate stretched tires? How much less / or more should I inflate them?

Should I even attempt to re air them and put them back on? It looks like i rolled on it flat for just a little bit since the rubber looks a little darker on the outter part of the tire profile...

this sucks.

I treat mine as normal.. 37psi. I do have a little more sidewall than you though, 225/40 on an 18x10

Thats a good tire. Actually lasted me longer then most but the stretch was too rounded for my taste. Same thing happened to me, I took it to the shop and have them remount it. It lasted me atleast another month after that.

Did you hit a pothole or something? From that size, you shouldnt have a problem. Im guessing the person that originally mounted it didnt mount it correctly?

Edit, its always better to over inflate alittle bit from my experience. I keep mine at 40-42 but you should be ok with 37 like Dom stated.

most low pro tires say max psi 44 on the side wall. all the ones i do at work, and on my rims and tires, i put them right at 40psi. do you have alot of negative camber or something? plus too, a 255 on a 10.5 isnt super stretched either.... oh well, hope all works out for you...

New info from the guy at my local tyre place: 42Psi will cause the centre of the tread to baloon out slightly, giving more contact for heavily cambered cars... I will be raising my PSI to test this out

255 on a 10.5" is nothing...i'm surprised that is un beaded...

when you put air in the tire, make sure it beads fully on the rim...you may need to go as high as 60+ psi...but most tires i've put on beaded fairly easy...

I blew off one of my rears, the other day, when I decided to stomp the throttle around a corner. Its a 235/40 on a 10" wheel.

I rolled to the next gas station, jacked it up, and inflted. The tire popped right back on. I WAS running 32psi. I pushed them up to 47psi, now! It might be a hair to much.

32 is definitely too low... and 47 is most likely above the max rated for that tire... should go back to 42 or so

Your right. Its rated for 44psi. I probably should back it down to42. With the more pressure, it seems to put more tread on the road, and I get better traction. But, Im sure theres a reason for having a "max" pressure rating.

thanks for the responses guys. I just brought it back to have it air up again. this time, he added this black beader stuff. we also found that i had a leak where they plugged up my TPS sensor. tighted that up and the leak is gone. havent had problems since.

Might be good to have the tire taken completely off and inspect for bubbles on the inside sidewall, since it unbeaded and you could have pinched the tire too. Your belts could have separated, you'll know if you start to feel vibrations at certain speeds or if you notice a lumpy sidewall. You don't want to blowout.

Good info Dom, I had mine at 36psi and raised it to 42psi. It rides so much better, suspension feels alot better for some reason too. I have NEXEN 235/35R19 on the front and Falken FK452 245/35R19 on the rear and they both say max psi is 50psi. I might bump my air pressure to 45psi and see how that feels. I figure at 45psi that would be a safe range to allow for air expansion when the air inside the tires start getting hot. pump up your tires it will feel alot better!!!

I was just going to make a thread asking if anyone stretched Nexen tires. What is the width of your front wheel? Have you had any issues with this brand? How would you compare the look of the stretch to the FK452? And last question, is this the N3000 model tire? Thanks
