Who goes lower?
Alright,I don't know if this is a dumb question but here it goes.I really want air suspension but don't know what to buy.its either a UAS kit or Air Runner.but my question is which one will get me lower to the ground?if I go with a UAS kit with new struts and installation I'd be spending about the same amount of money if I were to buy Air Runner without installation.oh and if it helps I've got a 94 GS300.thanks.

Easystreet gets lower, you can make it as low as you want when you measure the lower sleeves.

Easystreet?isn't there a lot of fabrication work to be done?

BIGGZ JZS147;89959 wrote:Easystreet?isn't there a lot of fabrication work to be done?
Not really. Most of the guys who buy AirRunner say "Oh, I wanted a bolt on system"..but these guys rarely install the suspension themselves...so what's the point? You spend $1000+ more on AirRunner WITHOUT a controller. The fabrication work is only in the assembly of the struts themselves. And in doing so you can make the lowest height whatever you'd like. You're not stuck with the front end being much higher than the rear. So basically you'd pay less installed with a digital controller than for Airrunner without a controller or the installation..or close to it. I don't see why you wouldn't...

You can go with hydraulics if you like. With hydraulics, from what I hear, you can get pretty low.
There are a few members here that have hydraulics, they can possibly help you out here.

so, with the Easy Street set-up, can you use stock struts or is it a better idea to get some sort of upgraded ones? i'm really at a loss at what to do for my suspension because i don't want to get rid of my active dampening system.

Well, there's 2 ways to go with it really. I have customers who've done both. You can either get their full adjustable damping strut with digital control system or you can use say UAS bags with coilovers and their digital control system. So it really depends on what you personally prefer or want.

Maybe I should have the title change to "air suspension questions" because I have other questions concerning air suspension.here's another.how would you compare Air Runner to a adjustable coilover with UAS bags on it.I figured if you go with a coilover with an adjustable strut body, you'd be able to go lower and not sacrafice suspension travel on the struts.make any sense?I'm still not sure what route to go with.

It's more in the ride quality at that point. UAS with coilovers is for more "spirited" driving. The suspension will be much stiffer than a standard strut which has a longer stroke. This also could mean that you could have a lower ride height and not worry as much about bottoming out. So what you're assuming is correct.

Okay here's another one.I remember someone mentioning about over extending the air bag.like when you go to jack up your car in the air to get it serviced.should you release all the air before you jack up the car so the bag doesn't stretch?

People have destroyed bags because of that. You see with cars that have stock airsus, the car will vent when jacked up with the air suspension switched on because it notices the change in height OVER what is normal and there for releases pressure (but some you need to switch it off..depends on the manufacturer) What most people normally do is to raise the car with the air to get clearance for the jack then get the pressure on the jack (not jack it into the air..just jack it enough that the car's weight is safely on the jack). At that point you can vent the air from that side or corner (depending on what you're doing) and the jack will be holding the car up and tension will be off the bags since they will be unpressurized. Then you can fully jack the car up getting the wheel(s) off the ground.
EDIT: Just be sure that you only release what needs released and also to not let the jack down all the way when done..only down enough to get the wheels on the ground firmly..then air up what was released...then lower the jack..that way you don't damage anything with the Jack.

Alright,I made up my mind and I will be going with universal air.and I've got another question.the kit comes with 1/2 inch valves.and the up/down action is a bit fast for me.how would I be able to slow it down without buying 3/8's valves?

Simple by adding 3/8" adapters then running 3/8" lines. The air will operate on the smallest inlet/outlet/line opening. You can get adapters like this at many hardware stores or from a high pressure line company..which is what I do. We have a place called Hydra-air.

lowest = hydraulics. I have seen my car bagged on 18s and its still not as low as my car juiced on 19s.

Also, you might want to run 1/4 lines, to slow down the low down.

i guarantee my setup will be as low as your car
It might not have the RANGE of hydros, but i can lay frame just like you can

No offence, but I don't like hydraulics.back in the day my brother had them on his Accord and it would give him so much problems and it was bouncy like hell.oil would flood the trunk and it even caught on fire couple times.but it wasn't "professionaly" installed so maybe that was the reason.

I rode in a car with hydraulics. Rode just like a car with new struts and slightly firm springs.

Alright Mike, here's another.I was reading about the Easystreet auto pilot digital controller.and it read "Accurate Manifold Mounted Transducers. The most accurate pressure sensors come PRE-MOUNTED to the VALVES.This eliminates the risk of leaks, and makes for an easier install."
So here's the question, does the kit come with valves and what size are they?and is the wireless remote controller compatible with the auto pilot system?

It has electronic manifolds which house the valves inside them..2 per manifold. It's a unit in itself. I've used them on a new GS recently and also before on a 2nd gen GS with AirRunner (the whole AirRunner valve/switch set-up was removed, the front lines re-ran, and the digital controller installed - thanks Aaron).

What are you trying to do exactly? I need to know what you're wanting to put all together. If you're going UAS bags on coilovers you only need the bags themselves from UAS..then you get the Easystreet Digital Control System which is basically everything else. Only might need a few various fittings if your fitting of the bags requires it (as in odd angles, or what not).

My paln was to get the UAS kit, mount them on KYB GR2 struts and was thinking on using the Easystreet auto pilot.I let my mom use my car on the weekdays to get to work and I don't think she wants to learn how to adjust the bags "I asked".so the auto pilot would be perfect.and I wanted to use the wireless remote control just for the wow factor "show off".

If you have remote valves already which most UAS kits do, then yes. Because what happens is the sensors get put inline with the valves and run to the ECU which is then controlled by the digital control unit. So in your case yes.

id rather have the bolt on system. And i dont know how low you want to go but Air Runner sits pretty low already. But ive heard allot of good things with easystreet struts. But again there is welding involded, And if you will need to find a good fabricator. But i heard Easy Street is going to jump into the VIP scene. they are working on a couple of applications already. So I would just wait.

Although I wanted to go with a kit that would go super low I didn't factor in when I get a JP bodykit,so it wouldn't matter which air kit I go with it'll looked slammed.I already ordered my UAS kit and it should be installed within the next month.I hope.
