help!!! change tire or camber?

i bought 20" wheels with front width 8.5 and rear 9.5

First i tried to use falken 452 size 235/30 at front and 255/30 at rear. i thought using this size will have a little stretch on the wheel, but i was wrong. In the end the wheel and tire were slightly out of the car fender about 2 fingers rear and 1 finger front.

i'm thinking to change the tires to 225/30 front and 245/30 rear. had anyone done this on 20"? any pics will be much help

but my friend suggested to change the camber bolts instead of tires.

any suggestion? thanks before

if the wheel is sticking out 2 fingers then dropping the tire down one size isnt going to help much unless your planning to run some more - camber. The size of 2 average fingers would be about 1 inch so I personally would go down to a 235/30 in the rear. That will give you a slight stretch and about 1/2 inch less tire from the fender. Did you roll your fenders?

already rolled the fenders.

i thought using fk452 will had stretch.....

if i cambered, i'm worry that tire cant be used for long

Depends how you drive. I have lasted 1yr on 6 degrees of camber, and thats more than i was expecting. 
 
fk452 will only have stretch if you use stretched sizes. The tyre itself is just like any other tyre. 
 
I would go to a 235 or a 225 as well, but you will ALSO need to camber it in, unless you want to drive with the wheels outside the guards like a lowrider

first of all, what kind of car ? are u lowered ? what camber degree? 

but 215-30-20 is super thin, u mind as well not use any tires.

I suggest you replace your tyres. 225 for 8.5" will get rid of your one finger, but I believe you gotta get 235 for your rear. 245 for 9.5" is not stretched enough to take the two fingers away. 

Other option is to play around with your camber. If you lower your car, work need to be done to your inner wheel arch. 

The life span of tyres is depended on where you live in. If you have lots of pot holes and uneven road like where I live, you'll be lucky enough to utilise your tyres for one year.

Like the term 'Super Thin'. 213/30-20 its not safe, but it looks good. The rims looks some sort of floating.... :smiley:

These questions need to be answered. Most of the cars on here have wheels wider than what is specified for the vehicles. If you have not lowered your car they will stick out. Answer the questions and everyone will chime in.

thanks for the input guys. i've done several things yesterday.

first, i changed the rear tires from falken452 255/30 to continental 255/30. It did stretch a little. for the front i still used the falken 452 235/30.

then i bought camber bolts for the front and rear. I didnt know what camber that the guy do on my car, but its in the fender now....

Here is the part that i regret the most. The rear height was way high. FYI, i already changed the stock spring with tanabe spring. Then i did a little custom on spring ,i cutted it....the height was now enough but then i was driving home, there were many speed bumps in the neighborhood. when i drove through the bumps, the rear chassis hit the bumps all the time.

it was annoying.......but i think i will leave it at the moment.

BTW i was driving asian toyota camry 2007

Post pics!Hitting bumpstops means you probably should go with aftermarket struts, that are shorter. Or stiffer springs....

sounds like the chassis is hitting the speed bumps?  time for some coilovers or custom air setup
