vip inspired civic

so, there's already the vip inspired rsx.  now, there's a vip inspired civic. not sure where the person's from, i just saw it on a different website which said it was posted on www.jspek.com. maybe the owner will post here, or is already a member.

personally, outside of the momo pedals, the hint of carbon fiber on the steering column, and the lettering on the headrest, i think it looks pretty damn clean.  i'm indifferent about the steering wheel. the color of the leather and the stitching look great. the wheels have pretty damn good fitment, and the stance seems right (i don't know much about civics and the amount of camber that is/isn't available). vip, no.  vip styled/inspired, definitely.

Re: vip inspired civic

granted dave the kit is maybe different from your usual kits of vip style cars..

but hey id say its pretty darn close hmm would you rather him hack up a veliside spocom...

kit and head/tail conversion do that so its close to vip style standards..

consideration that there is like zero support for making a civic near vip style

so give him/her that at least...

Wow. I need to get in touch with this person, that car is too damn hot. I love the interior work, now I know what I can do with my own interior 8)
Any bets on the sizing of those rims? Proteges and Civics are pretty similar for clearances I think.

Re: vip inspired civic

i like the combination on the interior, but maybe a lil' bit of simplicity would make it best (for me) other than that car looks awesome! ...yeah it's only a civic but hell it made itself a VIPstyled car for sure.

(covered the plates on the car but not on the floor!)

Ok, so let me get this straight. Someone took a Civic, a car much like your car (with the exception that the civic has a huge aftermarket following) and did exactly what you would like to do to yours (make it somewhat resemble a VIP style) and your scared of the wheel fitment he has?

Wheels aside, what exactly do you think make that car VIP styled? With out the wheels very little. With out the wheels that car could easily be considered a very nicely done show car, if it had some chome 1 piece piece of crap 19's on it. However, the biggest thing that seperates it from others is the wheels and FITMENT. There is a lot of things you need to learn about what make VIP style what it is before you can emulate that look on ANY car. And it's certinally no easy feat on a civic.

Price, resale, reusability, tire prices etc.
I'm not ready to go for something too wild in the fitment dep. yet
+ 17"x7 is also easier to find used, seems popular with the bB crowd in Japan

at least get some WORK's if you are going for 17x7's, they at least have some offsets for you to play with. I think I saw some VS-XX's 17x7's with a offset of +9 or -3...forgot.

Re: vip inspired civic

You would probably put the same sized tyres on 8"s as you would on the 7"s (I'm guessing you are looking at places like "Juan's Tire Shop" for those cheese-cutters, and they would be putting 195s or 205s on there), and on the 9"s you could put 215s which wouldnt cost much more than the 205s

Resale? Once people see how hot your car looks with those wheels i'm sure you wont have much trouble selling them!

Price, yes well they will cost some more than Juan's el-cheapo generic 17x7 wheel packages, but it would be one of the most striking and attention-grabbing mods that you could do to your car. Anyway if you are so concerned with money, why would you even be looking at redoing your interior like this civic? That probably cost more than the wheels!!!

look for used wheels, quality used wheels will have a lot better resale than some crap 17x7's there's hardly a difference in price between 205's and 215's

17x8 is anything but wild... at least with a 17x8 you'll have some decent fitment, unless you happen upon some very very low offset 7's

what do bB's have to do with anything? I thought u had a protege?

Same bolt pattern, 4x100, and they're both smallish vehicles. Since bBs are popular, there are a lot of VIP style wheels on Yahoo! Japan, and it's easier than sifting through al the 4x100 wheels.

HI GUYSSS......I am the owner of the civic that someone had posted into this forum.

First, thanks to all who has contributed in giving any suggestion or watever, i appreciate that ;)

And, I noticed that some of you guys does not agree with interior colour or silver carbon fibre panels or momo pedals, etc

The interior colour that currently is in my car is my own personal choice of colour...the big capital letter on the headrest is something i want to add into the interior so it will looks unique with the others :)

Silver carbon fibre panels....I am inspired by AutoCouture. In their website there is a set of silver cf panels for LS430, so I managed to get all my interior panels carbonized ;D

The MOMO is something that i forgot to change...hahahaha my bad guys.

Anyway...I'm still 21...so probably I don't have as many experiences as you guys had. And looking forward to do little bit improvement of this car though... ;)

BIG thanks to my friend JTANOYO who has been my teacher in VIP modification hehehe....

Re: vip inspired civic

firelizard : just do it using normal paint. anyway...I'm not really too sure about it because I did the painting together at my bodykit's place. and for your information....this car is only built in 10 days...because at that time i was rushing to join the car contest :)

others : thank you all ;)

personally, outside of the momo pedals, the hint of carbon fiber on the steering column, and the lettering on the headrest, i think it looks pretty damn clean.* i'm indifferent about the steering wheel. the color of the leather and the stitching look great. the wheels have pretty damn good fitment, and the stance seems right (i don't know much about civics and the amount of camber that is/isn't available). vip, no.* vip styled/inspired, definitely.

this thing is not vip.... but i would say that it is the nicest civic of that year that I have seen

The civic is nice though. he got the essence of what VIPstyle is about down to a T...minus the whole luxury car part.
