one of the SWEETEST cars ive ever driven... SC'd Vanden Plas Jag

so im car shopping. ive been looking for a luxury car but tend to find myself driving evo mr's as well. im at a mitsu dealer here in the bay area (in el cerrito if anyone wants to check it out) and im talking to the dealer after driving a 07 black mr (FUCKING sick cars btw). i tell him im debating between luxury cars and a fast car. hes like, "if you want the best of both worlds, come check out this jag"
 
low and befuckingHOLD is a 2000 red supercharged v8 vanden plas jag. the vanden is the cream of the crop xj series jag (fur like carpet, extended body, rear seat wood grain tables, THE WORKS) but this mother of god was the supercharged edition. they had to be specially ordered through jag by the purchaser and it sounds like a beast. he brings out some reviews and other literature on it and apparently its compared to the m5, s55 amg's and porsche 911s. so being good ol me, i drive it. this son of a bitch has some torque! (keep in mind, i had been driving mr's all day). it has more power on the freeway than the mr's 4th gear while being quite as hell. hit a uturn and naturally the rear end came out from under me. theyre asking $28k and it has 60k miles on it.
 
power and luxury, you seriously cant ask for more. id pick it up but its a little out of my ballpark.

Super nice car.  It shares that motor with the XJ-R, that's why it's so fast (370hp/390ft lb).  It's essentially the same chassis as mine even though it has a different chassis # (mine is an X300, that is an X308).  Many of the parts mix/match, but the interiors are different but share the same materials for the most part.  I'm biased, but I'd say it's worth it...haha.

dude if you could get it, that would be awesome....i kick myself everytime i see an xj chassis go up for sale....

The XJR 100's are very rare.  There was only a limited amount of them ever produced.

I am starting to like these Jags more and more. I think if I were to go with a euro it would definately be a toss up between a Jag and Merc. I don't remember what Jag it was but I saw one the other day at lunch, it was hunter green w/ 4-6 piston brake calipers and cross drilled rotors. I think it had a special emblem on it too like a factory tuner version of Jag. Jags just look wide and has a low roofline, so mean looking yet so refined.

One thing I like about jags is when you sit down, you feel soo low inside them.. maybe because the door panels are almost to your shoulders and you are wrapped up with all that luxury.

My father has a 2007 XKR  convertible. I will snap some pics. It is a beast! I don't particularly care for Jaguars, he has 3 jaguars and only prefers Aston Martin over Jaguar.  The Xkr is loads of fun to drive!!

Nice cars! But not VIP.  Just to compare and contrast..the X type is like a C-Class, the S Type is like an E-Class, and the XJ is like an S-Class.  That's the basic scale of things with Jags.  The XK is like an SL.  Really only the XJ is VIP out of any of them to me, although all are nice cars.
