TOYOTA CRESSIDA??

im in the market for a beater and was thinking a toyota cressida would be perfect. maybe dd for a while and work on the cressida later on to VIPstyle. anyone have pictures of one done up? i remember seeing a red/maroon one on here but i can't find it no more and nothing pulled up on the search. thanks in advance. i plan to even throw in a 1jz too! :giggity:

I did not think that they had early 70's Cressidas. I thought it was just mid 70's to early 90's.

haha i wish man! the reason for the beater because of gas prices nowadays. so the g50 is outta the question but some day i'll own one all done up :smiley:

Yeah G50 sucks gas like a fish in water. :(

I am not sure how great the cressida is on Gas mileage but they are hard to come by in decent condition atleast in AZ.

GL, I think the car has potential with the right owner. I am considering one for my Wifey as DD then onto a VIPStyle car.

Hahahhaha! Gas prices should be the least of your worries, well it is for me.
My reason for a second car/beater is Mileage & Tires!!!! Tires have become my new money pit :shrug: Gotta pay to stunt!!!

you think you would get better gas milage with a 1jz  X.X cause once you get the 1jz in you would want MOE POWA !!!!! 89-91ish cressidas have the 7m-ge in them. as of right now i think im getting around 23-20 mpg...maybe my right foot likes the floor alot ?

if you want to save gas on a good beater. i would say get a  mid 90's corolla and drop it with a 20v motor :) itbs ftw.

i already have a 95 corolla but it's boring and i want something i can fix up later when gas is not the issue.

dawg, gas is always an issue. if you wanna save gas/money. why buy another money pit??

i bought a 83 cressida about a year ago for 1500 from my neighbor and sold it for 1000 to my mom coworker. i shoulda of kept it because it had low miles for the year and it was always garaged and kept clean

your trippen. you can get nice hatches and integs for like 1500 all day
