new wheel selection for 91 DX camry

hello guys,  I was thinking a bit and browsing around on here and saw the wheels id like to have to give my car a more vip style look rather than ghetto bling verde diamonds  what is the offset on these?  The camry and the mx cress. are fairly similar and i want to know if I can go with something that deep or not.  Thx guys.

Those fender im pretty sure are modded so those specs would be useless unless you plan to do exactly the same. Id bust out a measuring tape and offset calculator and use what you have now as a basis, granted you know the specs of your current setup. There are many variables to consider besides wheel specs such as tire size/brand/model, fender mods, alignment specs and ride height.

This site is about high-end Japanese/Euro luxury cars (even if they're old and worth $10k).  No love to be found here for a $1000 car.  Most sentiment here will be " why are you putting $2000 wheels on a $1000 car???

Too many people come around here w/ non-vip-platform cars and say "I want to do this VIP-style".  It just ain't gonna work.   By the time you get the right wheels, get them to fit and then find a way to get the car low enough to make it look right you've wasted a fortune that could have been put toward something else.

There's a reason you don't see any tastefully-done 91 Camrys.   It's next to impossible to pull off.

The Camry looks very similar to the Cressida and Crown - enough family resemblance for it to work.
The limitations are the cheaper interior, and FWD drivetrain.

Why not show him HOW he could take measurements to fit the wheels, maybe have him take some pictures if his fenders to see if he could shave them and pull them to gain clearance etc. 

Just because you drive a 1994 Q, and he drives a 1991 camry, doesn't make you the  god given vip enthusiast rights to bash on his car for it being a little different.

I guess I tend to question if it's actually going to happen.  Props to the OP if it will.  I look forward to the pics of it.

Just like back int he early days of the Honda scene where every "reader's ride" in every magazine showed cars that had a drop, wheels, a muffler and a list of stereo mods, but "future plans" always included "engine swap, turbo or supercharger."  Riiiiiiiiggghhtttt...

I'd LOVE to see an oldschool Camry on air w/ rolled fenders, dished wheels and stretched tires (there's 6 grand).  Add new paint for another 3-4 grand.   The resale value of that car would be about 4-5 grand with a whole lotta luck.

ill clean the car up and get some pics up so you all can see what im working with.  I know what you guys think I have, a rust bucket pos, but I have tried to keep it clean and classy.  I thank the guys who have had a good attitude about this, and the others...act like adults please.  Yea I know i dont drive a freakin' expensive car, but throw me a bone...jeeezzzzz.:shrug:

I mean come on, it doesn't just include VIP chassis and etc.. it also includes VIP "styled" cars, am I correct? How about we lend the guy some help instead of non-productive posts. 


nizzan4u2nv is right, there are many things to take into consideration and to fit a wheel aggressive as that one will take a lot of time and patience to make it fit right, which hopefully you are capable of, otherwise prepare to spend a pretty penny.

I don't know what to tell you man.
 
Building a car just to sell seems to defeat the purpose. If you get pleasure out of owning your car, it shouldn't matter if you can make all your money back - you spent that money to have a nice car. If you actually wanted to make money working on cars, you'd stay the fuck away from Vip that's for sure. OE cars are where the money is.

I NEVER look at it from a profitablilty standpoint.  I've just been in the car scene long enough to see that people pretty much don't keep their cars too long after they're "done".    If you keep the car, then there's no money lost per se (in my own warped/twisted logic).  

Generally, people spend all that money to "have a nice car" and then they ditch it after it's done.  (I kept mine after it was "done", but I have a garage and a beater, so that helps the cause)
