Does anybody have instructions on how to do this?
I'll be watching this thread...
if I had to guess, you just have to loosen the bolt holding the wiper and position it and somewhat reverse the polarity of the motor to go the other way? I dont know haha.. ps: shawn has this mod...but he is very busy last time i heard. :(
EstimaStyleWgnClub (alan) has the instructions. i was tryin to do this mod this weekend lol.

What's the vertical wiper mod? I can't picture it.
Here is a picture of Shawns Previa with the wiper mod.
ok, I think you have to reverse the links to the motor and the wiper..and thats how you can do it.
Paging Alan and Shawn.... please report to the VIP courtesy phone
Thats pretty neat. You guys should unfold the wiper blades and hang flags from them.
I did a similar mod on my Celica.. Actually it was like the single wiper mod that all the ricers did, but i made sure the movement wiped the entire drivers side.... Anyway, what you do is take off the shroud covering the wiper motor, then turn the wipers on once just to confirm the direction that the motor turns. Then loosen the nut holding the wiper cam onto the motor and wiggle the cam/arm off so you can move the wiper freely Rotate the cam/arm in the same location that the wiper motor normally would, in the meantime move the wiper to the position you want (vertical). The cam/arm should have rotated 180 degrees Put the cam back onto the motor and tighten the bolt back up Test the wiper and make sure that it wipes correctly (reversed motion)

Sorry Guys, here is the link http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/rracing/waiper.jpg If you need help, and you live in So. Cal. I would able to help you out! just send me a email or by phone. Alan
thanks alan
thanks Alan! This can be done with the motor ass'ly still inside the van, right? Gonna try it tomorrow...

I'd love a translation on this to do it myself! I do install instructions now for my companies parts, if someone in SoCal is going to do this I'd be happy to shoot it & write up a how-to
you have to repostion the arm in relation to the motor. you can do the same thing to the rear wiper on the xB and xA. just switch the mounting point. reverse polarity and you're gonna pop some cicuits.
I hate to drag this one up from the deep, but can this be done with the motor still in the van? (I'm thinking yes???) Since I can't read the instructions, is there anything that needs to be cut or modified at all?
I answered my own question, yes... took me about an hour tops. Pretty straight-forward.
Wait... my bad. The wiper motor had to come out of the van, nothing to modify at all.
Sounds like most people figure it out for themselves, but incase you are wondering 01. Take out the aircon duct 02. Detatch the Wiper ring (use flatbladed screwdriver) 03. Take off the wiper motor bracket 04. Take off the wiper crank arm 05. Turn the crank arm 180 degrees 06. After tightening it back on do the reverse to put it back on
Question about wiper mod, not this particular one. But i've got a 91, will a 92-97 wiper arm fit? I only ask, because my 91 only offer's refills from the dealer, i wanted to get the Bosch Icon blades, but the arms on the 91 don't allow them to fit. Any info would be great. Thanks
thanks. Now I can manage to do diy
