I like the things you choose to capture. I generally see things too late and don't get the shots or find all the wrong angles.

There is a big difference between the tourist gaijin, and the ex-pats living in Japan. It only took me 6 months to start getting annoyed at the attitudes that alot of gaijin have when they come over there. In some ways i began to understand why some Japanese people choose not to be nice to gaijin.

I think the biggest grievance is the fact that many people make no attempt to speak their language. I dont like it when foreigners do it here, so why should they put up with it there?

I agree..it's an attitude like they are better than the people who's country they are a GUEST in. People need to have or learn respect. Respect their country, their beliefs, their culture..it's not YOUR country, it's theirs. It's so true though. I felt the same way after living there for a while. It's not just American's though, it's all tourists like Dom said, but American's seemed to stand out more.

What I'm most intimitated by is the language. The fact that I woud have to learn three scripts, and conversation is daunting. But I'm willing to try, I'm not one of those "HEEEY. DOoo YOUuu SPE-EAK EN-GLISH??" people. Those people rub me the wrong way, boy 'ecky they do.

2 of the 3 scripts can be learnt in a weekend when you are surrounded by it. The third you will gradually learn and isnt impossible.Learning any new language is hard. But at least Japanese doesnt (generally) care about intonation and inflection like Chinese or other Asian languages.

I have terrible short term memory, I don't think I could remember even one script in one weekend unless I was using it all day. Then I could probably manage katakana.
