need an opinion.... Am I on the right track?

Ok I want an opinion on these wheels... I have been looking around the web and ran across these and noted that they are offered in 22"s. What do you think and if you know of a site or someone else that offer 22"s please inform me...

Thinkin' these may look pretty hot on the 05 GS430.... Like 22x9 fronts and 22x10 rears? :biggthumpup:

Are you going to radius the fenders? Otherwise they are WAY too big for the GS430... At least if you are going for vipstyle
 
The LS460 can pull off 22s, but on a GS it will look plain DUB...

"22" NOT MY FLAVOR OF CHOICE, however i would do "20"s in the either model.(not a fan of chrome though)

yeah 22s on gs looks way too big.  It will look Donk. 19s is good already. 20s is pushing it.

I thought the 05 body style had larger w.wells?

even if you are on a drop, your car will still be like 6-8 inches in the air with 22's on a gs.  Like someone said, 20' is pushing it for a GS.  The wheels are too close to each other.  The car is not long enough to pull off 22's, its going to look like a toy

For some reason I really love the stance of this car... But then again I am also looking into some fender work and airrunners... now all that is left is a lip kit...

20's?,... maybe,.. but 22's?..  I would get the first set in 19's and call it a day.

The key is that the car needs to be low.

22s + no lowering = you're from Virginia. =)

^^^ Like everyone said... it's about stance... Not all the JP stuff and what not makes a car VIP or not... Stance and platform... I was looking into doin' some fender rollin and air ride first... but just wanted to know what wheel had the style for VIP

those wheels are nice but they may not be offered in custom offsets.  thats why you see us all on mostly the same brands of wheels.  you can get those, but to fit flush like VIP you may need spacers.  i would prefer a wheels where you can get custom offsets so they can fit flush without spacer, you can get them deeper.  there are a lot of DUB style wheels out there that i like but wouldnt fit right without spacers.  my wheels right now arent super flush but i like it low and tucked.

as for style of wheels, i'd say yeah, those are some good choices.  as for size...depends on fitment.   were u gonna flush it out or tuck wheels?

I'm dying to do this wheel on a VIP (or VIP-influenced) car.

We've done it on Bentleys and BMWs and it looks pretty slick with brushed centers.

I would do it on my car, but I don't think it would work with the carbon fiber details,
big brakes, more "sporty" theme I have.

Get the Maya's in 20" if you want to run bigger diameter..larger than that and you can hang out on the DUB forums...not here.  On the 3rd gen. GS 20's look good, on 1st and 2nd gen. 19's look good.  The wheel wells are larger on the 3rd gen., but running bigger than 20" just doesn't proportion out right in my eyes and certainly isn't VIP unless it's 21's with radiused fenders.

That wheel is sik, like the size of the wheel in the video but not the finish (not feelin the bling)

I agree wit you... I would love to see a slammed GS wit 22s... But mostly the reason I want 22s is cuz where I live No one has 21s in stock or know where to get them...lol  Plus the cost is cheaper.... Living out in the country it's better to look into what's reasonable.

First off... tires for 19s are stupid around here.... 20s and 22s are about the same price.  21s would be nice but I know if I went into a tire shop here... They would rub their nuts and look at me stupid....lol

I got 20's, I made a mistake but I'm only busting his balls. If I had 19's instead I would be able to get just that right ride height and amount of poke on my wheels, even with just that extra inch and I got big fenders that have a factory almsot kinda flare to them. 20's would be just as good for your car but nothing bigger. You said it yourself, you want it flush and you wont get any poke with wheels that big when you drop it as low as you want to. The wheel would sit inside the fender and when its low the wheel would be hidden by a good few inches.  IMO, thats not a good look if you wanna stay on the right track.

And, dude why the hell would you care if people would rub their nuts and hate on YOUR car cause you don't use THEY'RE ideas?

I can see them now, they are all DUB all stars with a fascist DUB idealistic state of mind. Would they rub they're nuts and laugh cause you don't want the o' so cool 22"'s emblems on your fenders?:smiley:  ( dont take offense to that if you agree )

Its not just your area, 19's are just tough to find but I wouldn't say they are stupid. Everyone around here in my area wants DUB this and DUB that Luxury cars and the same  for allot of others on this site. Most people in the area they live look at them like they are dumb cause they arent DUB this and DUB that. Look around the site and see what some people go through to find a nice set of 19's that work as well as tires. I have yet to find anything since I made my big mistake. 

Like I said in my other post, 20's would be great but 22's IS DUB!:shrug:

You can order shit, from like a shop in cali!!! Anything you want 21" wheels, 19"tires, ANYTHING!!!! holy shit i just blew your mind didn't i? lol

No... if you read everything I said. Shops here having in stock. Witch means, the ability to get a tire right away. I never been able to get online and have a tire put on in less then 30 minutes... Now if you know a site that can do that... Please send me the link...:biggthumpup:

Yes but you see,... some people on here make 20's work with a VIP look. But anything over that no matter how you might put it is just the "DUB CULTURE". But then you start to go very big and its even worst, its DONK..... YUCK!

I think although maybe not in the US, there are plenty of cars with 20+ sizes that work well with VIP. It's certinally not easy to pull off but it's been done, usually requires extensive fender work.

Yah anyway. Even the few really good custom shops around here that know whats in would have to order anyway, otherwise your not doing anything to the limit. Its just going to be basic if you go to the Local Jack Williams Tires!

Really, not to be rude but I have to see this.

How do they get good fitments even with fender work, I still wouldn't imagine it looking good. For some reason I just picture the wheel being hidden by about a quarter percent. IMO the best fitments is a tucked tire with a poked out rim very low to the ground.

Now I'm confused!

But like I said go for it man. I would do it in the Mayas, even if you still want 22's I would do the Mayas.

You got a point... But remember I came here to get opinions... And see the out look of the issue of bigger wheels... Then again... If you want to go into the issue, it's about everything being done tastefully right? I mean that is how I see it... Most DUB and DONK car are not lowered as extreme as a VIP styled or Inspired Cars... I understand what you mean by it being' too DUBish... But I'm sure there are more people on this forum other then me that have been told that....  I mean at lest I'm not building' a Chevy Truck.... :smiley:

Thats cause in most cases they cant sit that low unless they have radiused fenders and half the time even then like I say the wheel is tucked way to far in.

Look at Wide Body Q's  sig pic for a great example of what I'm getting to. Its just to hard to do that with big wheels.

I know what you are talking about... sadly in my home town, the Jack Williams Tire shop....lol Tends to have 22s in stock... The USED Jack Williams Shop also have 22s. I don't get it... it's sad when you got to stand there and order some BFG 18s for my Nissan as the lil white boy after me  is watching his Tahoe getting 22s put on.... I know this place I live in is ass backwards....:pat:

I wouldn't say it's too hard... I would say alot of work... I mean if you want it to be done tastefully then you are going to have to put in the work right? That is all what it's about. I mean when I mention the issue of 22s... I never noted that there may be some needed fender work.... So in that case I'm willing to put it in for the look I'm after...lol'

Wow I was wrong, but IMO its not my kinda look.

I take back some of my words but I am the kinda guy that just likes the wheels to be sticking out. The pics I found are some nice cars but they all have wheels sitting way to far in for me, if you like that...... DO IT! It does look,..... not so DUB'ish:smiley: .

I mean I read alot of forums where people like to fight over what is VIP or NOT... and I just wanted to see if you guys was open to 22s or not....lol I mean I know the LS and some Euros are mostly noted with 22s but why can't we do a little work with a GS and roll...lol:giggity:
