bags dont stay inflated

when i hit the switch for air to goto the bags, it will feed the bag, but BARELY.  and then it begins to lose air.  i am using manual valves and no check valve.  also, compressor keeps on running non-stop..  i'm gonna bust out the soapy water + spray gun tomorrow.. anyone here got any ideas?

definite leak...usually you can hear the leak when the compressor stops...if the compressor is running non-stop, there's a BIG leak somewhere...

should be something coming off your tank or a busted airline someplace before teh bag..shouldnt be a bag

i found out the loctite that was on the PTC fittings were no bueno so i ended up using teflon tape over them.  

using 2 viair 380c compressors and a 5 gallon tank clocked at around 9 minutes... is this normal or am i looking at more air leaks to seal up? (i did not use teflon tape over the pressure switch.)

that is way too long to take to fill up for just a 5 gal tank..u may want to check all the fittings..even the ones u put teflon on..usually i put about 5 wraps of teflon and tighten the fitting down as tight as u can w/ a 12 inch wrench..that should be enough to seal it..jus spray soap water..i'm guessing you still have a lot of leaks  around..also does the compressor jus kick on after it was off for a while w/o any activity?? thats a sure sign of leaks..u have any guages hooked up?

use teflon tape and the liquid teflon and every fitting.. all threads..

i read that you didnt use check valves that is one of the problem.. but if you have the vai air comressor the check vavle shoudl be on the braided line..
 
Also what did you use to cut the hoses.. I see you using the push to connect =fittings.. you cant cut it with dikes becuase it will smash the hose when you cut it.. you need to use a hose cutter for a nice clean cut..
 
Take no short cuts..

i meant check valve for the line out from the tank... i mean i really want to make sure where it's leaking.  it's driving me nuts.  when it fills it will stay filled - filled it, went to go take a shower (20 mins), went outside to start up the car, and the compressor doesn't go on which should mean no leaks......... i think.  i wish i had a gauge to confirm that.  i'll probably get one tomorrow.  anyways, i cut the hoses with dike cutters.  time to bust the soapy water + spray gun again..

cut the airline with hose cutters, you definately need a clean cut to ensure a good seal.

everything looks good now except for one side.  i found out that the rubber hose that UAS makes is leaking.  i'm going to see if i can get a replacement on it.

viair's website says a dual 380c setup takes about 7 mins to fill a 5 gallon tank.  seriously, it's taking me around the same time so i think i am safe as far as air leaks around the tank.  imo, 7 minutes is a little long.. might have to upgrade on the compressor


another question... i'm on coilovers. do i crank the perch all the way up until the bag on top touches the strut mount when fully deflated?  cause right now, it is cranked all the way DOWN.  i ask because when i am at a reasonable psi (reasonable height i guess), it starts to clunk like crazy i guess because of the gap from the top of the bag to the top strut mount? but when i put the bags at full pressure it does not clunk at all (rides like shit btw)

yup use hose cutters... also what it do yuo have.. UAS ??
 
if so dont over tighen the fittign that goes into the bags.. the base on the bags will crack and cuase it to leak.. 
 
Bought my UAS kit NEW USED and the person that had it before me over tighened to fitting in the bag and it cracked the base right where the threads are
 
 
I have only one viair compresor it take it w while to fill a 5 gal tank but i never un it down to zero pressure.. 2 compressor made way to much noise for me..

i have that clunking sound also..i believe its cuz the bag brackets  arent actually bolted down but are free floating..when lower pressure is in the bag it doesnt have enought tension to the coilover perch to keep it together..i say raise the perch to the point that ur car still dumps all the way down...if not u might have to make some kind of rubber padding to cusion the clunking

regarding the hose leak, i spoke to UAS and was informed that the flair fitting was loose. i went ahead disconnected cleaned and reconnected everything, and all is good. im embarassed for it being a user error... i thought the adapter fitting was already pre-tightened.  where's the close thread button at lol
