5 spd swap into G50/Help

Hello Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone here has attempted this feat?

I will be purchasing a q45 within the next few days as my next daily/drifter/project.

There is a shop here in Orlando (Mazworx), that will make an adapter plate for the z32 trans. to bolt up to the VH. Now, by any chance, does anyone else know what car would be a donor for the rest of the swap parts? (pedals, clutch MC, lines etc.) Has anyone tried this?

Thanks to all in advance for any help you can offer!

I figured it would be logical to ask here, due to the fact that the only person I've ever seen with a 5 speed Q (and drifted it) is actually on this website.

If I can figure out how to do this, I'll do a write up and post it up.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Who has a 5 speed Q on this website?
Only person I know of is Wes and he is on NICO. That would have been more logical.

he has a 5 speed with an RB in the car...why would you come to a vip forum and ask how to drift out your q45? I would say go to nico they are working on all that for the 5 speed swap...as for all the pedal assembly and what not...if your getting the z32 tranny wouldnt it be logical that your got the 5speed parts from the z32 also? oh and please dont turn it into that..its too heavy to drift with a vh and you wont have enough power unless your gonna turbo or supercharge it....just go buy an s13. it will be cheaper overall trust me...im getting my motor fully serviced right now just to get it running great and its no joke..i probably could go buy an sr swap for what you have to do to make these run legit...plus parts arent cheap..ngk spark plugs(if your not gonna go cheap on your car...gotta pay to play) $22.00 each from nissan.

theres a guy with a S14 240sx that has a VH45DE swapped in it. it says he used a 300zx twin turbo 5 speed trans.... BUT i flipped through his thread and he had made a custom adapter plate to join the VH engine to the 300zx trans.... if you really plan things out, you can join any trans to that engine, with a custom adapter.... you'd probably be better off though swapping a complete RB motor and trans....

Thanks for the replies

I've been drifting s chassis for about 4 years now, and am looking to get into a 4 door.
I would rather go with jzs147 but everything is way more expensive for that car. Plus, the vh makes way more power stock that the Na 2jz.

I'll check nico club, thanks again guys

Pretty O-T, but, of course you'll pay through the nose if you buy parts from a dealer. It's not that the parts are expensive, it's that the dealer charges a lot for them.

Um, sure the parts for a jzs147 are a bit more expensive, but not really. A good set of coilovers are about the same price, You don't have to deal with that whole knuckle crap, and you could get a 2jzgte clip for about 2800 nowadays that if you look on supraforums or clubna-t.com you could find out plenty of information on how to swap that over.

With about 10k you could have a pretty clean 6 speed 2jzgte jzs147, or if you want a bit easier car to do that in, you could get an SC that's 5 speed, just turbo the motor, and you are good to go, without having to deal with a complicated swap.

with teh GS you will still have a bit more work to do with the pedal part, but nothing a custom pedal box with rerouted lines cant fix (yes you can buy those even) The power of a gte and v160 will blow away a vh, as long as you do the swap right, stock for stock, its better, and bpu's will boost you up to 400hp easily, single it, run an hks fcon v-pro, and you can easily pull the car up to the 850 hp range.

You know what's really VIP? Have a Q45 and just drive it. And then get a sports car with a manual transmission also.
