Just Another Soldier, New To The Scene...

Hello Hello everyone of the board......Im not super new to the board but I am new under this screen name & w/ my current car (was on before under different name and w/ a honda civic as my ride). Over the years I have become greatly interested in the VIP scene and the uprising of VIP inspired or styled cars.  I now own a 06 Dodge Charger and Im thinking of adding some VIP hues to it.  I know its not of the ideal platform such as Celsior or Q series Nissan...which is why Im starting off on this board rather than the other VIP car forum (no shots at them, outstanding forum).  Ive seen quite a bit done to the 300 and even some respected VIP performance companies have geared their market towards them.  So I think Im going to take my stab at it w/ the charger.
 
Yes I know this is lifestyle to some and look to others.  But I have been in to performance and auto customization for years so I myself embrace all aspects.
 
Props to the creators and mods of the board, all who own rides, everyone who respond to my post (in advance), and I hope Im welcomed and plan to learn alot from all of you.

A lil about me:  
 
In the Army, stationed at Ft Gordon, GA as a Satellite Communications Instructor (yes I have been to Iraq 3x), own a [U]06 Charger and a 1975 Chevy Caprice[/U] ( yes one of those w/ big rims and all the goodies......but NO not lifted to the sky)

Your approach is fine as long as you have the understanding that your car will never be a VIP car, but merely VIP inspired.  We get so many day dreamers trying to "VIP" this or that when the cars don't fit the bill.  There's nothing wrong really with trying to use VIP to influence your style as long as you aren't claiming it to be something it's not.  I'm just giving you the complete "heads up" before you hear it from someone else who might not be as cordial.  Haha, I think you know what I'm saying.  Welcome to the forums..please don't mix DUB and VIP whatever you do.  That will just turn out ugly.  This is probably your biggest challenge since most parts made for your car are DUB'ish.

I would love to see someone do this correctly. But I do have one question since that only wheels that fit a charger/300 correctly are 20's does this automatically put him in the dub category? I have seen nicely done chargers but I would put them in more of the new era muscle category.

yeah , and pancakes doesnt have 20s or anything...

[B][I]ELPRESIDENTE:[/I][/B]  Yes indeed, Im completely aware that my car is not of a true VIP platform as I stated in my intro post nor will I ever claim it to be.  But again I do love the overall look of a VIP car and its presentation which is why I am going to try and achieve a VIP inspired (styled) look to include performance upgrades to the best of my ability.
 
---True alot of the cars of the LX platform are going towards the heavy big chrome wheels to have the DUB look as it is so refered but many w/ the chargers are going w/ the very nice staggered concepts from the multi piece wheels that are out.  Granted many may go w/ a Asanti wheel rather than a Work or an Auto Couture wheel. Nor are there many slamming them to the ground either but thanks to the idea of air suspension, I can slam it when needed.
 
[B][I]SLVRBLKSHEEP[/I][/B]:   I have yet to see a charger pull it off in any shape form or fashion but the 300's have been doing a pretty good job at it.  Most charger custom work consist of  22s to 24s, 2tone paint, and a outstanding a/v system.  And there are alot of wheels out there that fit a charger correctly from 18s up to 24 inches.  [B]I plan on going w/ a nice staggered set of 22s (just need to find the proper wicked offset and silver or polished to achieve my look) and freshen up my BRIGHT SILVER paint job[/B] ( I know black is the FTW color when it comes to VIP but I have seen some charcoal grey, silver, and even white make its presence known), [B]interior upgrades,[/B] [B]and the a/v system is a must[/B].  [B]Im not new to custom work for I completely went through my caprice.[/B]

That is why I said I would put most done up chargers in the new era muscle car category. Dont get me wrong I am not saying it cant be done or that you cant do it. I was just asking if the 20's would exclude you. And I have yet to see a charger on anything less then 20's and look good.
