newbie GS question

Ok i'm planning on getting a GS430 in the near future and wanted to get a headstart on research for my project.. i wanted to know if people knew the pros and cons of each of these motors.. i wanted to know whether it was worth me to swap out the motor or what are the different outputs people have for the 3UZ motor.. has anyone boosted this motor.. if so can i please see pictures.. I know with the basic IHE's(intake, headers, exhaust) it does add a lot but i may want some more power than that.. i know the 2JZ has plenty of upgradeable parts and has an insane potential.. thanks for all those who answer my newbie question.. and i have searched but havent found any major results that i wanted..

3UZ-FE (stock GS430 motor)

4,293 cc V 8 front engine 300 HP /325 ft lb

2JZ GTE (swapped turbo supra motor)

2997cc straight 6 twin turbo 280 HP /323 ft lb

Re: newbie GS question

since you are talking about model years 2001-2006, then I can tell you for a fact that there isnt too much aftermarket in terms of FI for this motor. You will probably spend more time designing, testing, etc. than you would like. If I were in your shoes I would just go for a GS300 and do the entire 2JZ swap, since there are tons of options to go with in terms of parts.
Not to mention it would be a lot less headache to pull off. I'm not a technical wrencher, I only do my own simple I/H/E type bolt-ons, but I do know this is the easiest, most well-tested way to go. Check your PM for more details.

Re: newbie GS question

Blitz makes a supercharger for the 3uzfe and I think that Wald does too...

Here is Wald's.  It is set up for an ls430...
http://www.wald.co.jp/catalog/technical/kompressor/celsior/index.html

There are people doing turbo's as well but, it is true that these kinds of projects are going to be R&D intensive. If you are looking for easy power, then go with the 2jz. It is tried and true.

Re: newbie GS question

Why buy the V8 body if your going to throw in a 6. Why not get the 6 to start with and then upgrade from there. Your question is kind of like the cart before the horse.

Re: newbie GS question

thanks for the info guys.. i had originally planned on getting a GS430 and had not really looked into simply swapping the 2JZ in the GS300. if i was to go that route is there change to the chassis or anything from the GS300 to the GS430.. i know the motor is different although does it have different suspension or anything??

the only difference between the GS430 and the GS300 is the motor itself. And in some cases the presence of e-shift.
