It doesnt look so high, but looking at the road after it you can see that it has taken a few people by surprise. So is the damage bad?

I cant complain about speedhumps anymore. I scrape pretty bad on anything over 5cm high, so even "regulation" speedhumps (10cm) are too much

Is that around 8cm? IMHO, it's not the height of the bumps, but the length of the bumps that gets me. Ya know... those short and tall bumps?

I've been thinking about this, all the people a couple cm's off the ground, how the hell are you getting over some of this stuff? I know I'm going to have to deal with it sooner or later.

Even then, If you know you can't get over/around something, what do you do when you have traffic behind you? lol

Bite the bullet and turn a deaf ear perhaps? That's what I did... Almost beached my ride a few times... Wheel spinning and all.

It's about 7.4" high. Damage caused:
-unrepairable front body kit
-holes on exhaust pipe
-engine mounting altered, moved back around 1 cm

Sucks. There are some things you really can't avoid. Im always going down back streets in quest to find a new route that has less potholes. I got all the streets memorized, people always ask why im going around a big ass circle when I could of just went up the short way. Just try to look like 20 feet infront of you and if you see something you know you cant get over, pull over or even reverse down the block lol.

I don't have pics, but my car kinda ate it a few weeks ago going through a Wendy's parking lot where they just added some 8" speed bumps. I swear the sound of the exhaust scraping I thought I was going to rip the exhaust manifolds off.

Daily drove at this height for 6 months before the car was parted and sold....

Subframe sat 1/4" lower and the car did settle after these pics were taken.

Yeah... I scraped.

havent yet had a car that low...my friend on the other hand....he was at one point so low that he was scraping stock exhaust/muffler trying to go over curbs into driveways. he almost practially ripped off his exhaust front bumer one time on a short high speed bump.

What..... No recognition for the quote? ;)

I honestly miss being that low, people would just stop on the sidewalk and try to look under my front bumper. When it was driving at you, it literally looked like the lip was touching the ground. I just couldnt get my self to drive that statically low in a luxury car..... But thats what Air is for.

I do fully plan on being the lowest y33 in the states.

i cant believe people actually attempt to take on any bumps head on. i used to ALWAYS hit the angle and if, for instance, it was in a drive-thru, id park the car and walk through the drive-thru. i hated hearing that scrape.

I tried that once and Wendys said they didn't take walk thru people. The only problem is, the actual inside part of it was closed at the time.

hah! That's awesome.

I'm having mixed feelings about doing a car lower than my Protege. And by mixed feelings, I mean, seeing stuff like your exhaust on the ground makes me uneasy, but I'm still going to do it.

I have most of my air suspension already installed in the Q. Just need to decide on what strut set-up I will be going with because so far I have not seen a low enough y33 in the states for my taste.
