How much power to Alpine SWR1540

I have an amp that isnt pushing it enough. It is a 15" alpine type R. I'm trying to get it to bump. It's a 4 ohm if that helps. What amps are able to push this thing? It's fuckin big dude.:pat:

Aren't Type R subs dual voicecoil?  Are you sure you have a single voicecoil sub?

Is it the 1542D? If so, It's rated at 750 rms or something.  Get an amp that pushes over 1000rms @ 2 ohms so you can wire the sub's dual 4 ohm coils to it.  Then throw it in a ported box, 'cause they perform alot better in a ported box than sealed.
 
I had a single 12'' Type-R in the trunk of my LS.  Rated at 500 rms and I gave it about 800-1000rms and it took it like a champ.  Box was tuned at 26hz, 2.0cu^3.  The lows would knock hard ..my door panels, steering wheel, and switches would start shaking.  If the box is right, it'll work real good even without much power.

where the f**k did you get this? i just spent a good 20 minutes looking for the specs. looks like its a european model released in 2001.  its rated at 500rms/1500max. not sure on the ohms, couldn't find that.

Yeah I know. Everything I found was eropean. I  couldnt find any specs or shit for it. I'll call alpine and ask wassup or something..
