a32 back on track!
i had gone from doing a vip style cefiro conversion to just buying an i30 and doing a sport/lux build on the maxima. well now i'm back to doing a slightly sporty vip style maxima build. the reason i say slightly sporty is because of the kit choices i have. since there aren't any jdm maximas i have to stick to usdm options. its not as bad as it sounds, i promise. anyways, just thought i'd share. i owe it all to this beautiful gs:

i'm really thinking about doing the profound as well. its between those, the ssr sp1 in the top pic, and a set of used bbs lm. i like the profound because if i push the fitment a little i can fit like a 4" lip in the back. whatever i do it will be black face.

A set of Euroline DX will push the max lips bro... Too bad A32's rear suspension is same as mine, no cambers :'(

yeah it is a MAJOR down fall. i think the profound would have a deeper lip than the euroline because of the convex face. also the euroline is a little to traditional for my build, the profound has a little different look to it.

thats an oem cefiro sports grill. i will be using a cefiro chrome horizontal grill (might paint it black) and 1 pc chrome headlights. i might not use fogs depending on what comes with the kit. i don't think there are specific fogs for the kit. if you think that is busy you should check out a usdm maxima front... 5 lights/side including fogs.

Just a suggestion here, if you wanna go rare... get from Japan their JDM only Cefiro Wagon. Comes with dual light clusters like the Cima Y33. It's rare and expensive. Sure will make it stand out more.

On a FWD applications, there's isn't much room at the rear wheel wells although Cefiro's has one of the deepest for FWD apps. I personally like the DZ more than DH, but both are so similiar except for the way the face curves and to maximize lip size without cheating, I'd go for DH. Even the SSR Vienna DISH gives lesser lip with the similar size, disk type and offsets. I've seen Cefiro's with around 2~3" real lip at the rear without going widebody or pulling.
As my ride shares the same suspension design as the Cefiro, it's real hard to go flush due to no auto cambering for wheel movement. I have to knock the hell out of the inner fender just to go flush. Imagine the work needed for pulling.

I haven't got a linkie... As it's show by a friend of mine who's driving an A32. But it's real rare stuffs as according to my friend, only the A32 Wagon AWD has it.

right now its in the body shop getting a few repairs and mods plus a repaint. really all the action is in my garage in the form of a stack of parts. i have to go to the shop and drop of a wheel for test fitting/pulling as well as pick up a couple pieces pretty soon, so i'll snap some progress pics (if there is any). looking to be done by spring.

those are going to be the daily beaters (i always loved hr-2s since the first time i saw them on importhookup.com on a gs like 5 years ago). still undecided on my high(er)-end show wheels (leaning towards ssr professor sp1 19x9 +24mm). i'm going to have the mrr customized black/polished.
i don't think anything in that pic will be going on the car in its current state. i have been buying parts for this car for years now (had it in storage for 3), so some of it is outdated and will be sold/traded/modified.
the whole wall to the left is other parts and my work bench where i'm working on a couple projects.

Nowadays, it's the opposite that's the in thing right now in Japan. I think they call it diamond cut or something (black face with machined edge). It looks tight on a lipped 2 piece wheel. Don't think it's possible on a flat faced wheels though.

Nowadays, it's the opposite that's the in thing right now in Japan. I think they call it diamond cut or something (black face with machined edge). It looks tight on a lipped 2 piece wheel. Don't think it's possible on a flat faced wheels though.

How do you plan on getting the grill to work correctly? The Cefiros grill is part of the hood as the Maxima's attaches to the headlight brackets and core support. You going to fill in the gaps around headlights at the fenders once you get them in? I actually thought about doing a Cefiro front end conversion because of the way it looks with that grill there.

2) skp dezign (skipper) - never really liked this one until yesterday. its basically just a lightly modified usdm bumper. i like how it makes the front look wide and flat. also has lots of ground clearance in the front in case i go with just coilovers.
i've also been thinking about wheels. i am considering going down to an 18" (for low low daily driving purposes) and will probably end up with a mesh wheel. i think i was getting too caught up in doing a super modern build (it was getting too sporty) and now i want to slow down and go back to the styling of the car. the i30t came with champagne bbs wheels and i'm thinking about going for that look. my thing is; if i under do it i can add little things here and there, if i over do it i'll just hate it.

i'm looking at pics and if i go with 19ss and anything but the insurance or wise kit it is so high off the ground. since i don't want to tuck the wheel (solid rear beam tsurachi ftl), an 18 will let me go that much lower. there are plenty of larger cars out there on 18s.

I'd prefer to have BBS LM over that wheels. Looks similiar, but nicer IMHO.
Insurance kit will really pull down your ride height as the kit is thick.
On Ceffies, any kit with door panels will make 19s looks bordering small.

i like the lm too, but from what i understand getting a champagne color in the us is next to impossible. if i have to choose between fitment/stance and having a larger wheel, i am going to choose fitment/stance.
as far as the insurance kit, it's just too much for me. i want a cleaner look.

Regarding the LMs, there's a few available in Yahoo Japan auction. Price and condition varies. And there's vendor in the forum that can hook you up for Yahoo Japan, right?
For elegance sports wheel with mesh design, nothing beats LM for it's evergreen looks. It will look nice on the GTR to a Corolla.

theres a guy selling som lm over here that i was gonna grab (not sure if i'll have the money in time now). i was checking out their website and not only is sizing an issue but they're about twice as much as the viennas. i'm all about payin to play, but $5000 wheels are too nice for my car.

U gotta check often for good deals around Yahoo Japan.
Yeah, LMs aren't famous for it's lips although it's stepped. I think that's because it's a performance orientated rims therefore most of them if not all are high disk, to clear huge brake kits.

Yeah, do agree on the SSR since the price for new is cheaper than used. So you've decided then? Remember to get staggered... be it width or offsets!

i think i want the ssr professor ms1 19x8 +19hp (46mm lip)/19x9 +24sl (84mm lip). that should be some pretty agressive sizing for an a32.

9J with +24 is really pushing the limit. But I'm not sure if it'll fit or not. Anyway, you say you'll make it fit, so I'm sure it's gonna look good...

it should poke 5mm which is a minor pull. i might do a 31mm high disk in the front since it won't loose much lip.

Champagne gold is classy. Silver or chrome will suits if you have some other little chrome parts at the exterior.
Black face will look gangsta, but it does tends to make any wheel 1 size smaller though.

actually now that i have pretty much figured the styling out in my head i started to order it and i think i am going to wait on my wheels and kit. i want go as low as possible so what i'm going to do is fit it with the wheels i have, have it pulled to the offsets i want, lower it as low as i can go, and maybe have custom made lca to correct some of the problems associated with extreme lowering on an a32. then i will decide on wheel diameter and if there is any room left i'll pick a kit. my new goal is to get 1-2" off the ground with no kit. looking at the skp dezign kit made me realize that adding a kit makes the a32 look a lot taller and more narrow. i want wide and flat.

Erm... frankly to push the limit of fitment using another wheels (especially if it's smaller/narrower) is gonna be risky.
Here's my problem which I think you'll face as well.
1st of all, we can't even run flush if u want good stance. That's due to no cambering for our suspension travel.
Another problem would be the inner fender space availability. From the illustration above, you can see that at the center of the wheel well, you have 1" of travel, but the part where it will rubs *circled in red* has only around 1/2" of travel before it hits. It will be even worst if u pull fender due to the pulled angle and our suspension travel plane. U can fit in more aggressive wheels, but you'll not gain the suspension movement required.
For my car atleast, I'll have to BFH *props to Yokotas* it flat so that I can gain more travel in the inner wheel well.

With that so little suspension travel you're planning to run, you'd better off take out the suspension and stick a stick a piece of wood in. As a slight compression of your shocks will screw up your fender... Just my two cents.

I've been doing some research on the B15 rear axle bar, too bad it's welded. What about Stateside A32? If it's bolted, then probably there are some camber shims available? It doesn't help on the inner fender clearance, but the stance is more gangsta.

don't really know but i'm going to assume its welded since the people who really want camber bend the axle. i don't want camber just for the sake of having it though. i want camber so i can go dumb low. bending and shimming wouldn't help the problem at all.

yeah man, i pretty much have a grasp on what i'm gonna do now. i know i talk alot about "i'mma do this and i'mma do that" but it sgould be done by spring. things are taking a little longer recently beaucse of some products i'm devolping and my business, but it will get done. no excuses.
